  • I'm the same Munchkim, I always like hear that people have won from my post.

Toniq, I tried Poundland & Poundworld today but couldn't find them coffees which one was it you got them from again please?

Having a bit of an argument with DH, well not an argument as such but a disagreement. We're taking MIL out for a meal on Sun, going out for a meal at Easter then going away to York for a few days. Now he's said his Grandma wants to go for a meal on 28th (my birthday 28th, her birthday 31st) but I've told DH I'm not bothered cos got a lot to pay out over next few weeks now he's spoke to his Grandma & kind of said we're going out on 28th with her for a meal where the kids meals are from £7.50 each & adult meals are £15-£20 each I've said no way - am I being mean? Think it's a lot of money for meals out especially when already going out twice for meals (we're paying for MIL's meal on Sun) & we're supposed to be saving for Florida!

lol Diva, that made me giggle and made the dogs jump :rotfl:

PMS nope you're not being mean at all by my standards, although I HATE spending holiday money anyway, I put every tiny scrap I can find into an esavings account and have named it holiday spending but in the cold light of day it's actually anything we've not accounted for spending and when I have to draw on it to pay for ruddy mending fences or what I would say was an expensive meal I almost cry, couldn't you suggest a compromise of a cheaper place or even cook for Grandma at home?
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)

We haven't got a Poundland and I did the biggest dumbass thing any dumbass could possibly do today! :o

I experimented with my brand new Senseo and put a spoonful of filter cofffee in the pouch holder to see if it would work!! :o it clogged up everything and I couldn't even open it afterwards for ages, it felt like it was superglued down! :o And then took me an hour to clean it all up and get it working again :o

Lesson learned, ration the pouches and buy them when they're on offer in Tesco :rotfl:

  • Thanks Nicky glad it's not just me, I mean over £50 just for the main meals is a LOT IMO. DH trying to sort something out with his Mum cos his Grandma not well & next year we'll be away for her birthday so want to do something nice but not that kind of price.
