Grrr....just done a search on my name and noticed that some company/newspaper(??) has stole one of my flickr pics for their newsletter!!! I would have prefered that they ask permission as it has my daughter in it! http://www.examiner.com/x-949-NY-Schools-Examiner~y2009m3d16-Confessions-of-an-autism-mother-The-autism-roller-coaster

I wonder if i should contact this person?

Any picture with children in them need parental permission, under the childrens act, at the school they cannot put any pictures of children on the website etc unless parents sign a permisson slip,

I would contact them asking have they ask permisson. The only time i would say they dont need permission if you submitted the story to them with pictures, my daughter was on the front of our local paper with her dad only because he sent the story into them.

I just really hate that they have stole this! I take pics as a hobby and done a year photography at college. I love the fact that my pics are being noticed but i'd prefer them to ask me and tell me what they are using it for.

I would definitely contact them chezas. Might be worth checking on flickr too (not on it so don't know) - when you upload pics are they available to everyone in their terms? Even if it is it would seem wrong for them to use it without permission seeing as it is a child.

No, she's not autistic. She's the middle one, the one on the right is my little sister. Haven't read the article yet, was more surprised to see my picture there. This pic has actually gained a lot of interest from ppl in the past.

accurate, kept up to date and should be kept and used only for one or more specified

All my settings are set to only me being able to blog/print/download. They def got it off flickr as they have put up a link to my pics.

Thats just taken me 3 days on and off to do comps ending 30-31st....:eek:
Thats the first time Ive actually manged the whole lot, I kept getting distracted near the end what with marieclair makeovers, some wired frog Tetris and a trying to make up a poem about fruit..:rolleyes:
My eyes have gone all funny and I still need to do the dailys... havnt read back but hugs to all that need it, well done on any wins, and hope we have some good luck tomorrow...xxx:cool:

I will prob contact one of my photographer friends and ask about what my rights are. The thing is that i would most likely have said yes to them if they had asked as i have given permission for someone to use that pic for a newsletter a while back. My pics are there for all to see through flickr but not for ppl to steal. I think it may have boosted some views on my site tho!
