None of us drive so no-one to pick her up, she wants it just close family so me, DH, the girls & MIL (her daughter) & if we ask another family member to pick her up it means inviting them too which she doesn't want. I do understand her wanting to go out cos she hardly ever goes out FULL STOP never mind for meals etc but just don't agree with her choice this year we've never been there before & from what both DH & MIL agree on it's just too expensive.

I see this one 2 ways imho :

    1) Treat the lady, so what if it's an extra few quid, she never gets out its a once in a blue moon treat for her, who knows what ahead for her on life itms xx
    2) Tell her straight u can't do that place or say its booked up and maybe suggest a diff place xxx

Could maybe your MIL have a quiet word with her - maybe she doesn't realise how expensive it is (especially as she's not paying... ) on top of everything else you've got this month. I don't suppose it's somewhere that does the Tesco clubcard deals is it.....:rotfl:

OHs brother's 50th and my sisters 40th this month, and MILs 80th in June......(I think MILs waiting to see what we do to celebrate the 40th and 50th before she puts her wants in.....she'll be lucky 'tho 'cos neither my bro-in-law or sister are doing anything....:rotfl: :rotfl: )

see, I knew I could rely on you all to cheer me up and give great advice!
love you all, you're all so wonderful!
we'll definitely just have to cherish the free time more, but it'll mean he's about every weekend now instead of 1 in 2/3 :D
I just don't deal with change anymore, and I feel I should tell one of the guys at work (the one I trust the most) that I might be leaving with him..

  • I've no Tesco points left LOL (well except the vouchers I've cashed in for York) but since YATES (in town centre) stopped taking them there is nowhere near us that take them anymore anyway sadly.

I've just paid £480 for the deposit for Florida & DH gets paid on the 26th but it takes 2-3 working days to clear so no guarantees it will be in bank for 28th with it being a Sat so unless I transfer some out of holiday money we simply can't do this fancy place she wants to.

P.S I have still not had a responce from YATES from before despite getting in touch numerous times.
