Finish samples
finish order
sent off new order
update accounts
send off invoices - 1 pink

That'll keep me busy til lunch.

Hi all, What a nightmare Horace, hope you are back to your positive self today, that woman sounds like she hasnt got a clue,you're better off without people like that.

Good luck with the pink invoice pupleroses..hope it works for you and they pay up asap :-) What sort of jewellery do you make? have you got your own website or do you just sell it in the shop where you work?

Hi all

After the waste of space woman yesterday and the debarcle with Business Link I have my boxing gloves on today:j The first call of the morning was to Advantage West Midlands to complain about being cold called by Business Link and running through this product launch, they are going to investigate and I have had to forward all emails that I received from this bloke to them. Whilst I was talking on the phone to them this morning I was getting a call come through which went to voicemail and it was from this chap who no longer works for Business Link apologising for not calling me back last week and how he wanted to speak to me about him, business link and the client - now do I ring him or do I leave it well alone? The thing is I really want to do the launch as it would be good for me - god confusion reigns

If any experts have any advice, please fling it my way.

thanks mm. I used to have my own site and sell in quite a few shops in Edinburgh and Glasgow but this business took over and I stopped making it but got back into it recently and a few local shops are now selling my stuff. quite exciting walking around town and spotting someone wearing something I made

Hi, I was inspired to join this thread as I thought it could be great for mutual support :hello:.

My OH and I are both self-employed and work from home, so our income is totally dependant on our self-employed earnings, not good in a recession!

Today I need to look through our files and see who owes us renewals, and then send out some invoices if applicable.

Also need to chase 2 people who are late paying, grrr :mad:. Have already sent 1 reminder to one and 2 reminders to another, so I think it may be time for a phone call to chase up!

That is cool isnt it, I still feel strange when I think that someones wearing something i made on the most important day of their lives!!!

Just popped in to say hello & i am still here, and loving this thread, well done for starting it wordsmith,
It is giving me an insite into self employment and keeping me motivated

i have been busy as a bee, working away at making my bags and researching marketing idea.


Moneymabel & purplerose i know what you mean about getting exciting when you see people wearing your stuff.

I know its not quite the same thing because i haven't sold anything YET:p but when i give bags as gifts to family and friends and i see them using them when they are out and about and dont expect to see me, its the ultimate compliment.

Well I have some news of sorts, I contacted Advantage West Midlands this morning as they are in charge of Business Link and they are now investigating. Then I had a call from the man himself - telling me about his 6 week contract with Business Link and how the project is still going ahead, so I asked him outright who he worked for so he said he had his own business called Ideas2Reality and they specialise in training and mentoring for new businesses as well as helping businesses launch products. AWM are aware of this and the fact that he used Business Link to further the aims of his own business:rolleyes:

I was expecting some freebies in the post today and all I got was some junk mail and a self-assessment tax return:eek: Methinks I had better find a friendly accountant because looking at the form it is way too complex for me and I cannot get my head around it:rolleyes:

I do my tax return online, it's so much easier as there are explanations for each section.
