Purpleroses - many thanks for the link.
Must say it's really very nice to be here!! :j
Hi,
Just wanted to say that I'm in a similar situation to you... I have lots of debt and likewise invested in a 'sure-win' business...for me it's definitely about 'focus' I've treat my business as a hobby for too many years now and that's cost me money... and like you I'm really proud to be dealing with my debts - it was the best thing I ever did and I understand that it looks like it will be a long hard slog...
But it doesn't have to be - if you don't want...
I've recently sat down, got a blank sheet of paper and in effect started again - looked at what I wanted to achieve and set myself quarterly goals..
These haven't just been for the business, but also for my financial situation aswell...and I've decided that it will no longer be a hobby but my long term future career!
Good luck with everything and keep chipping away at your debts they'll soon go down..0 -
Just my tuppence on late/slow payers.....those that shout loudest get paid first. It takes confidence to keep ringing up and asking for money but in my opinion if you value yourself be determined. Have a strict policy in place....ie invoice and then seven days after payment due - telephone, then friendly letter followed by phone call....Final letter saying further action will be taken followed by final phone call. Then I used to file a claim online to moneyclaim online....chances are you never got custom of the customer again but they paid up. People do come to respect your terms if they know that is how you work.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Hello everyone-you seem to have all had a productive day. :bdaycake: Happy Birthday for tomorrow Mabel - you're ten years younger than me:D (but I dont have the same birthday date as you as I am a sagittarian).
Starxtrouble - just because your local chamber has a translation service there is no reason why you can't join and have an ad in their magazine offering your services.0 -
thanks Horace :-) have come up with a necklace design so all is not lost! How are you doing? Are the nightmare assignments coming along?0
-

Daft question but what is the OS board??? As you can tell I am like a new born babe when it comes to this sort of stuff.
White stilletoes - remember I am from Essex :rotfl:
As Purple said the Old Style board is definately worth a look and they are very friendly over there.
Mabel - have a great birthday today.
Well its Friday :j and the incentive to get loads of work done so it doesnt eat too much into the weekend. Also want to get some housework done. Luckily OH drives for our business overnight so is up early and quite happy to do loads of housework too.
Today have some niggly filing jobs, I need to sort out all my EL&PL insurance documents and file then somewhere nicely as you need to keep them for 70 years! I do have all of them but they are spread around the office in 'safe' places. I also have some tachographs to check and file which is my most hated job in the world but also a very important one so wont come back in here till that is done.
Site is down all weekend  what will I do?0 -
thanks essexgirl :-)
Good luck with the filing, expect we'll all get more done this weekend with no MSE distracting us!0 -
Yes I found myself thinking - yeah I'm going to London & staying overnight tomorrow so I won't miss MSE so much  well at least it proves we are coming on here & learning something:j
Hopefully today not too many distractions, although have to have 2 tyres put on the car this afternoon - nearly £200 for that but very necessary, have been putting it off till some cash came in. Good news is that overnight one of my US customers finally finished paying for a very expensive doll although I only get 10% of the cash as it is sold for someone else on commission (I don't normally do this). This lovely customer has even included more money as she knows that PayPal will take a big chunk of it:D
I won't be selling for other people in future as I think I've caught a cold with this one - trouble I can take US dollar payments as I have a US dollar bank account. This doll was paid for on layaway, but of course the credit crunch has intervened & I reckon any profits will have been eaten up by the fall in currencyAh well a learning curve as they say.
Right get family up in a mo & then make a 30-min plan. Need to take photos today as it is very ovecast - that makes for much better pics than bright sunshine. Go for it everyone, it's Friday & we have MSE till 10pm tonight to kick us into gear :TNew start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0
