Sorry to hear that ark, it can be a tricky one. :think: if you can't locate the thingy recommended by TM and Katgoddess, you could try using a couple of cake tins on the floor of your oven to put a baking/roasting tray onto and use as a "lower" shelf.

But then I don't believe the essense of the original post came down to one or the other as a preference, but as a priority.

Thanks to all who've given me advice aboutr adjustable oven shelves. Now I know they exist I shall be on the lookout
