• Hi
I do hope she will be ok. My ds had galndular fever at 15. He went down to 5 stone before he started getting better. I cna't remember what he ate, not much. But when he started getting better he really went for Mars bars in a big way.
He is now 36 and usually on a diet.

Hi - I had it when I was 19 and couldnt eat very much - rice pudding and semolina were frequent meals.
My son has problems keeping weight on, so we add cream and butter and cheese to meals. he has chocolate cake mixed to a puree with milk which is nicer than it sounds, and sponge puddings similarily with custard.
There are meal replacement drinks that she could take instead of normal drinks whilst still eating and calorie enhancers from her gp.

I hope that she gets much better very soon.

Best wishes, LHB

I posted the article about fat and liver with glandular fever - I did a search as I remembered when my neighbours daughter had it she was told that fat was bad for them when they had it as the liver could not deal with fat with glandular fever so it is kosha!

Your poor daughter. I had glandular fever when I was 15 and was off school for 6 weeks, so I know how she feels.

Have you tried protein drinks? You can usually get them in health food shops. Or what about Complan or Slimfast?

I hope she feels better soon.
Build-up might be a better option than Slimfast but Complan's a good choice.

Jasmine was taken into hospital 2 days ago. Toto said that Jasmine has now got severe tonsilitus on top of the glandular fever, but the docs have put her on IV antibiotics and looking after her.

I hope Jasmine is home with you all soon Toto. Hugs and kisses to you all.

Thanks for the update PP.
I'm sorry to hear that Jasmine needed a hospital admission, I hope she's feeling better soon.
Toto, hugs to you and Jasmine. x
• Hi there! I hope Tot and family are all fit soon

I've had to delete a couple of posts - please don't ask for or give Medical Advice:

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule on the Health Board). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Thanks, Penny. x
