I love my garlic crusher, my boiled egg slicer and my cappuccino frother. But my pasta maker gathers dust because its just too much trouble and I also bought a really nice silver toast rack which I have never, ever used!

I have had various coffee makers over the years and, although I love the drip of the coffee and the wonderful smell I soon got fed up of making coffee that way. So now when I want a special cup of coffee thats not instant I buy the 1-cup filters from Rombouts which you just sit in your cup, pour hot water in and presto you have freshly filtered coffee with no fuss and no mess!

My most useless kitchen items was my electric toaster and a sandwich toaster. Both took up space, and the the sandwich toaster was a nightmare to clean, i found my slowcooker took too much space and didnt cook in my cold kitchen. The electric chipper was a horrible, horrible thing.

An electric juicer was a bit of a mistake. It did make fabulous juice from fruit & veg - but it took ages to disassemble, wash and put back together. And it had to be washed after every use and none of the components were dishwasher safe. It was very good at gathering dust though. In the end it was donated to sis, and I now just eat the fruit/veg.

couln't agree more - what an absolute waste!

  • The least used item that I have personally bought is the pasta maker, although it does make lovely pasta. I am just too lazy to use it.

My only unused items are cookie stamps which i was given as a gift. They are really nice but I never make dainty things like that. Everything around here has to be hefty and filling :D
  • I make popcorn on the stove. Easy, fun, and smuggled into the cinema in a cereal box! Must admit its not great for my pan though... I haven't used my juicer for over a year- think I still like to have it for some reason. Maybe incase I am dumped with a truckload of carrots. Ice cream maker a gift and only used rarely- but love it. Stopped using breadmaker recently but did get plenty of use from and will again> I've had the slow cooker a few weeks; its made some near disasters but remains a great way to make latenight rice pud until I find something that works!

I must agree about the juicers being a total waste of space. I am sooo glad we borrowed one from a friend for a week to 'test drive' before we bought. After the second washing-up stint I was begining to loose the will to live:eek: Needless to say we still buy our juice in cartons LOL

  • A slow cooker. It is a waste of space. cooking low on the hob does exactly the same job. I intend to freecycle mine asap.

NO WAY! cannot believe it - I am addicted to mine!

Can you leave a pan on the hob all day? I would expect to come home to a burnt out kitchen!!! :D

A griddle, used never...well used it as a tray, first house cooker not big enough, hope to use it on a rayburn.
Love my fruit juicer, not too bad to clean but was an expensive one slashed to half price because it had no instructions
