you can do that very easily with a bottle opener... simply place on lid and pull up lightly like you would on a bottle cap... stop when you hear the 'pop' soundfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -

I never did - that's why it's still in its box :rotfl:“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Enough with the sausage carnage :rotfl:
My most useless kitchen gadget is a deep fat fryer, bought after watching Nigella fry something yummy(was half price from Good Food mag).I think I used it twice.Too unhealthy, it uses too much oil about 3 litres, too big,too smelly.0 -
I too got rid of a deep fat fryer and also the bread maker is sitting in the garden hut ready to go on freecycle.
Great noisy thing that clunked away for hours, just as soon buy a loaf of Warburtons and make some bread in the oven at the w/end when there is time to enjoy the smells from the oven and to sit and enjoy the bread.
Anyone have a square egg maker?0 -
I have a juicer and I really love it. Don't use it loads, but love fresh juice at the weekends and it isn't too hard to clean. It was fairly expensive though.
Things I find useless:
- electric chese grater (donated from mil)
- electric carving knife (donated from mil)
- one of those hand held milk frothers
- some weird thing to cover food in microwave with a drip tray thing (donated from mil)
- sandwich press0 -
A ready steady cook popcorn maker!!!! It was rubbish, expensive and took ages to pop the corn, and only popped small amounts. Was used once and then given to the kids up the road!!!!!0

Will add vote for popcorn maker and steamer here.
Both things that the gf just had to have and have both been used once I think!!!

I have a popcorn maker - but not a kid's one and we use it a lot - especially at the weekend when watching DVDs or smuggling our own popcorn into the cinema - about 7p for 2 bags for ds1 &2“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
