    Morning All
I have just put on the WM with a load of towels in it. I have found recently that my towels just dont smell quite how I would like them too  I know that you are not supposed to put fabric conditioner in (although I have to confess that I usually do) so I was thinking about using white vinegar. Now, my question (I have finally got to it!) is how much do I use per load? A capful some may say, but WHICH cap?? A fabric conditoner bottle capful or a vingear bottle capful? i have read through lots of threads but cant find the exact answer I want :o BTW, before you ask, yes I am one of those people who can cook but need to have an EXACT recipe or else I am completely flumoxed! None of this "spoonful" or "dash" here, I need grams/ounces or ml's/fl oz.
    Thanks for reading

I always use malt vinegar and fill the conditioner compartment to the recommended fill line. And no, my clothes don't smell of vinegar :D It gets diluted in the water which is used to rinse the clothes.

Hello everyone hope ur all well

basically ive been told to use white vinegar and baking soda for my nasty smelling kitchen sink, which then got me wondering what else i could this vinegar for...

ive never used the stuff and worried ill use it once, itll go in the cupboard where it wont get used again!

I searched the forums to see if i could just find a similar thread but i couldnt seem to find one so i thought id start one! i did see a few posts saying people use white vinegar for fabric conditioner and cleaning microwaves etc and i very interested, as i spend alot on cleaning bits!

so if any of you have any tips or ideas on what i could use this vinegar for, do let me know and ill tell you how i get on!!

    thanks everyone!

Firstly, I must state that this idea is Kethry's. I'm just passing it on.

For a MSE/OS general purpose cleaning spray, use one-third of each of Stardrops, white vinegar and water in a sprayer bottle, preferably an old one that was used for something else that you have used up.

I'll take you up on that offer! What have you got for making my stainless steel sink shiny?

  • Vinegar dissolves limescale, so it cleans kitchen sinks very well.

I've run out of polish so I've been using vinegar instead.

Is there something I'm missing here:confused:

I've seen various posts recommending white vinegar as a cleaning agent - to clean windows, surfaces, floors, inside washing machines and so on. But I've also seen posts recommending white vinegar, instead of bought fabric conditioner, for softening clothes!

How can a product that strips away dirt also act as a gentle softener on towels, woollens etc?
