Memory is a strange thing as you get older. Does she accept that she forgets things? If so you are halfway there and can put things in place to help.
My mother will not accept that she forgets things we have told her - where I am going etc (at my age !). She turns really nasty when we say we have told her and insists that we are wrong.
(Still not told her about Manchester!).
Its not just the memory loss with her though its the inability to understand simple conversations, I am really pleased that she has shown as Normal in the test but as I stressed to the nurse that it is very distressing for us and her when we turn up to take her somewhere and she has not got a clue why we are there.
We will find coping strategies though, we have to do something.
Thankfully she is still able to function normally such as housework, shopping etc I guess when these things become a problem then we need to have her re-assessed.But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
I think we should drop the subject of boring each other now. We clearly don't or we wouldn't be on page 7!0

Toto - I'm sure you didn't offend anyone. Sorry to hear your DD is so poorly, glandular fever is the pits, my little one had it last year and it took her so long to get over it but she got there eventually and has more than made up for the lack of food......Hope she's feeling better soon.
As for my comment this morning, I really do hope that people don't feel the need to carry on apologising for mentioning running. I've been less and less inclined to post on the thread as I have only one thing in common with most of you and it seems to be the one thing that no one really talks about....debt....maybe I've lost sight of what the threads about.
Anyway, lovely to see some lurkers come out of "lurkdom" today - keep it up....it's lonely out here

it's good news that it isn't Alzheimers Louise, hopefully there will be support and ideas for a coping strategy.
I think I'm getting a cold. Feel a bit like I'm dragging myself through the day and have a headache and neck is a bit up. I'd rather get it out now though than keep it in and it come out whilst I'm on holiday so I might get a bottle of wine on the way to work and when I get in really chill out with a couple of glasses to make me really relax, should help the cold on its way out!
