Hey all! Am still packing everything up in boxes and attempting to empty the freezer for our move next Friday... but today:

    I have:
    * defrosted loads of veg - including stew pack of swede and carrots - to make veg soup for dinner tomorrow and lunches
    * defrosted prawns for a prawn pilau this evening
    * checked Quidco and Pigsback (wish they'd get those Lakeland vouchers back in)
    * read gas and elec meters as bill is due and it's an estimated one - submitted online. Think I may have used more than they estimated, but will have to pay a final bill in a couple of weeks anyway so makes no real difference.

    I will:
    * make Doctors appointment to get a repeat prescription - BEFORE the charges go up
    * find some spare boxes from work's recycling - for packing, and maybe some bubblewrap
    * find cheap Brita Maxtra cartridges online
    * order a water Hippo for toilet

Have a lovely day everyone xx

  • Hello!
    • Just checked my online banking.
    • Going to do some work expense reclaiming today.
    • Paid a bit off a credit card.
    • Listed a few more things on eBay.
    • Posting a couple packages now bidders have paid.
    • Hopefully having a NSD like yesterday, though I might end up having lunch out with a colleague.
    • Did a proper online grocery shop at the weekend, instead of stopping in every couple days to pick up a "few things". Also used a code to get the delivery + a bit of shopping free and used my clubcard coupons to save a few more £. Also tried to shop "down a brand" where I could. This was also good as it meant I cooked a really nice meal in, instead of going out for dinner... so more expensive on the grocery front, but £30 less overall on that!
    • Got to get my buildings and contents insurance sorted out pronto as they're expired so will hunt for the best deal with quidco and comparison sites (I've been procrastinating this for ages as it seems like such a mammoth job)
    Mar In: Quidco trkd £79.95, val'd: £54.62 (rec'd: £20, paid to date: £1015.51). eBay: £93. MS: £0. STP: £3.78. GM: £3. Owed: £1976.
    Debt - Loan: £6253.20. C/C @ 0%: £3785.
  • Hope everything goes ok at work for you Mogchops, hope your feeling better millyscarlett and Miss Piggy.
    Today I plan to...
    • Sort out phone contract, hopefully reduce to £20 a month
    • Write letter to cancel gym membership
    • Write letter to bank to find out how much I've paid in bank charges so I can reclaim
    • Onepoll surveys
    • Have a look on Quidco and see if I can get any nospend thingys
    • Look into scratchcard thingys
    • Check online banking
    • Work out budget for next month
    • Go to Asda & spend less than £15
    • Take dinner to work so I don't spend anything
    • Check Ebay to see if I've got any more bids.
Think that's about it! Have a lovely day everyone!!

    xx

    * find cheap Brita Maxtra cartridges online

    Hi Bobbadog

Hopefully I can help as I was doing some research yesterday on just this subject!

Robert Dyas is doing 3+1 (4) for £9.99 with 2.99 delivery. Surprise surprise - they are out of stock! My local store have 6 for £16.99.

On Ebay I found 6 for £18.35 (with postage).

    Hope this helps.
