Tuesday 17/3/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking
  • update spreadsheets
  • move some money to savings
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • ironing for me
  • clean one room so no housework to do at the weekend
  • reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
  • plant one tray of seeds
  • swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • aim for no spend day
  • sparkle a lot - cupcake socks today;)
  • use lots of smilies to cheer me up
  • get DD to sell my £50 virgin voucher on flea bay
  • might nip to boots in lunch hour as been given two £5 no 7 vouchers to use:D
Good morning lovely dfw'sjumping0044.gif, Hi to all the regular postersHShearts.gif and welcome to any newbies welcome2.gif.

Hi everyone, I return once again.
Mogchops, hope everything goes OK at work for you,
Sophiesmum - we have had a fire risk assessment at work the other week, unfortunately it was an old retired officer who came, not the dreamboat I had hoped for!
    Today I will
    - erm, go to work and be greatful for this considering what others are going through right now
    - take last nights leftovers for dinner
    - have a good tidy up later
    - collect £4 I am owed from work
    - cant see I will be spending anything
    Hope everyone is well

    Morning All,

Thanks to Sophiesmum for starting the thread nice and early
    Mogchops fingers crossed for you

    Today I have/will:
    • breakfast and lunch from home
    • daily scratchcard done 10p
    • email CCCS and tell that that I will have to delay my review as I am not too sure what I am doing for work
    • off to college tonight, so need to pay bus fares from work straight to college so cant get away with NSD, it will have to be a LSD instead

Think that is about it foe me today - no fit firemen, just sales guys who want me to release their orders.

Have a good day everyone & take care,
    Candy xx

painted lady - Luckily we are just down the road from main fire station so we always get sent a bunch of lovely firemen and an engine - although sometimes they abandon the visit part way through as they have to rush off for a job. Then they have to come back another day - what a shame !!!:D

    Morning everyone :j

Sorry to hear you are still not well Millyscarlett, and keeping fingers crossed for Mogchops - if you love your job, they would be mad to get rid of you!

    So far I have:
    Checked online banking
Checked work email - can work at home today, so saving time and fuel
    HM breakfast

    Later I will:
Do some work - I have lots of 'deliverables' from a previous project to look through - wacking great reports to you and I! (Can't you just see why I am envying SM the fireman scenario :D )
    See to animals
Make some cookies using up some left over ingredients
Fill up wild bird feeders to use up last of winter bird food.
Tidy up a bit - I love SM's idea of cleaning a room everyday and then not having any housework to do at the weekend - I have tried this but it gets so messy I just have to do it all over again
    Do a bit of gardening
DD2 and her bf coming for supper tonight so extra cooking to do

Pop back here later to pick up tips from all the rest of you!

Have a nice day everyone :hello:

Hmm, sounds lovely, especially the bit where they get the kit on and have to rush off! What a shame you dont get your fire assessment done and they have to come back though, must be such an inconvenience for you, lol.

    Morning all

    SM enjoy your firemen!
Mogchops - fingers crossed for you today
Millyscarlet - good luck at doctors

Well this morning I'm feeling as rough as ever. Still deaf so the syringing didn't do much good! Not sleeping at all well due to throat. Another couple of days and I'm heading back to doctor methinks!

Got to keep going today though. Lots to do:

    * Do Mrs Mop job at SIL's
    * Take Piglet to nursery at 3pm and pray he doesn't throw up this time:o
    * Washing at 30'c
    * Really MUST think about doing the ironing I've been meaning to do the last week!
    * Check on-line banking - not too bad for last couple of weeks of month!
    * Take bag of clothes to clothes bank
    * Do SIL's recycling for her....my brother has a penchant for collecting motorcyling magazines so I may put them in the loft ready for a car boot in the summer
    * Storecupboard dinner
    * Not a NSD - need few bits at Mr T's but have a £4 voucher I can use

Thats about it for today. Hope everyone is ok....another nice day out there MrsA - should perk you up!

    Miss P

    xx
