Hi mrsmcr
Well what can I say. You were drowning, and had almost sunk. By sheer grit and determination (and not without some sabotage by your OH), you have now got to the point where you are now treading water.
Your OH has got good job, and has made a sacrifice about not being with you much of the time. You have got a website which you have invested alot of yourself in. Would you have done this if you hadn't tackled the debt and realised that it was the only way to make some serious money.
If you hadn't worked so hard, would it have taught you that you NEVER want to go back to this situation again? I don't think so.
I think it must be very hard that you (i believe) live in a posh area and are surrounded by the seriously minted, or the seriously in debt who haven't had LBM yet. On the other hand I guess you wouldn't have had so much access to credit.....
What I am trying to say is that you have done REALLY well this year. Yes it would have been ace to find a buyer for the house. But at least now when you do sell it. You will be like hypno and be debt free. That wouldn't be the case if you hadn't put the hard yards in in the last 2 years.
So i think that this is going to be your year. Have you set yourself any goals. Like pay off £50k this year or something? Ok I know that you will pay this off if you sell your house, but never hurts to have a goal is it?
Also have you looked at your credit reports recently. I wonder if you may find that it is better than expected, just thinking that if you could shift any of that debt to a lower rate then that would be ace. When you freed up the £500 a month when you sold the car, did that start to go to overpayments on the credit cards, or did it just balance the monthly books?
Right rambling now.
I know you will have an ace 2011, happy new year. We are nearly in to 2011 here.
