nightmare day.. thought i had reached end of financial line - bought petrol, went to pay with bank card - was declined - omg - sick as sick in tummy - thought life over :-( and then we would be defaulting on other payments for rest of month... but was a blooming security thing.. and the garage should have rung the bank with a code and not just declined my card... omg - stress or what... thought it was all over ...
so we limp on ....Highest Debt £581,000 Nov 08 and now owe nothing! yes really! I have learnt my lesson the hard way!

so we limp on ....
And that sick feeling, and you 'limping on' is why you should still do a DMP.
You would have enough money in the budget to pay for the petrol with CASH. So no worries about cards being declined.....
And especially you don't want to start defaulting on mortgage or council tax payments.
I am very pleased for you that you have got some paid work and the other bits and pieces.
But even so I think you still need the DMP, TO RELIEVE THE STRESS.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hi Mrscmr
Just looking at the above you have a repayment mortage?
Don't want to speak out of turn but what is the rate? May be better to go interest only for a while and chuck the money not spent at the cards.
Your mortgage has reduced by £12k but cards have increased by 8k
Are the cards all on 0%?
Your sig may be not to date but I see it as treading water at the mo (and been there, done that myself so not being mean)
Also good news on ebay income but is it from selling off personal items or from buying, trading and selling at a profit?
At some point, you may not have enough stuff to sell off to generate a good sum each month.
I am only posting to you because we are coming to the end and are almost DF and paid off a stonking 160k over the past 4 years...90% from business issues.
Our credit score is mullered but we had a mortgage already and will never borrow again, so wasn't an issue....but getting a self arranged DMP sorted with cards was the key for us. Keeping a line of credit open ''for emergencies'' may feel better but, once it is cut off, the whole DFW feels easier to go for. Only IMHO of course.;)0
