mrscmr - have you got any broken or no longer wanted gold. The Hatton garden site is one I can recommend after sending some off for myself, my sister and my cousin.

Its amazing how those broken earrings and tangled broken chains mount up0 -
Some of the cash back sites are paying for you to send off your gold - so check out quidco and others before/if you do!
Sorry MrsC you had a bad day. We just stayed in all day! Cheaper that way but enjoyed ourselves anyway!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Have just read through your diary, my word! You're doing fantastically well.
Debt is a funny thing, it's not really about the money, it's about how it makes you feel. Staying positive when things don't seem to be going well despite your very best efforts is the most difficult thing in dealing with all of life's problems not just the debt thing.
One of the most important things is to make sure you look after yourself first, a bit of the airline safety thing where they tell you to put your own mask on first before helping others.
The school thing made me laugh though, all those intense parents living vicariously through their children, dire, just dire. Pushy parents create unrealistic standards for many children and do a great deal of harm.
Just read up on how Spike Milligan's children were raised for an idea of what a fun childhood should be. FUN.
You are soing so much hard work at the moment, I think you should take a few moments out to be kind to yourself. Sometimes life deals out $-hitty cards and we have to make the best of a bad hand, don't beat yourself up because you can't always see progress, trying your best is all that's required. It is only money and they can't have what you haven't got.
Keep on keeping on, you are doing great even though you feel it's two steps forward and one back at the moment. Be good to yourself. Life is too short to stuff a mushroom as they say!
Much hugs,
