  • Try and keep calm Mrs CMR re your finances. I know where you are coming from, I have a number of payts due next week, and just hanging in there with them. Interesting you are doing Avon, good luck with that. Ive never fully said what I do in my business, but I am not too different from you. I'm a Kleeneze lady. It's great, and these sorts of businesses where you work for yourself but not by yourself are just fantastic. They work if you work them. Put the effort in and you will be rewarded many times over in the long term. Thats what Im finding anyway. And yes, you will start to reap financial rewards now with Xmas looming up. Its amazing how many customers will buy already for Xmas. My top single order to date is £175 from our Xmas catalogue. So, keep focused on building your customer base, if you are like me, a team too, and you will never look back, only forward and the fantastic future that is ahead! Although things are tight for me and dd, I am convinced that w/o Kl we simply would not be in this dear home of ours. It has been the best thing I've ever done business wise. Good luck with your Avon.!

    Hope Avon goes okay

I had tears in my eyes at school today when I was asking the teacher to be more careful what she said to my DD as she took everything said to her very literally.... I also told school this week I couldn't afford various things they were asking for - that was embarassing too!

I don't honestly think I've noticed until this year just how often we need to send money in.

Chemistry teacher thought it would be a good laugh for his two classes to fight each other at paintball. £22 up front, £7 for extra balls because they all ran out, 2 hours later they're home. 14 kids dropped out because of "other commitments"!

Aprons nonsense is just that. Public schools are losing kids like never before because parents are in financial straights. Can't they do something to help relax the rules a little? Paying the fees must be hard enough just now without all the extras which add up to a small fortune.

I know what you mean KJ

My DS has a school trip half way thro October £12, and my DD has a school trip just before xmas (what was the new headmaster thinking!) £9.50 to see a pantomime. Traditionally they used to get a perfomance group in for a couple of quid... irritating or what!

And another £35 cheque just written for science past papers tonight. Wonder how much it'll be with all the other subjects. This is an area with high unemployment doesn't seem fair that lots of the kids won't get these materials...this is meant to be state education
