It quite shocked my 18 year old to watch these young carers coping especially when she moans about having to wash the odd dish!
Martin and new sign ups for the email have raised £10,000, well done MSE :j0 -

Having made quite a bit in the £1000 in 100 days challenge, I chose to donate £50 which I felt was affordable to me.
But it still hasnt shown on my credit card and its making it rather difficult to sort out my money as i should really be trying to pay this £50 off now before I spend the designated funds, but theres no balance to pay it against
do you think the donation didnt go through or is it maybe just taking a while to get it all processed? I did it over the phone and they took my home phone no in case there was trouble with the payment but noones called...? anyone help?0 -
Only just saw this, did it ever show? Mine on my AMEX was very quick (couple of days I think)0

Nothing I am afraid.
After asking if Children In Need could help a 3yr old with cancer and they declined as we weren't a charity and they only help groups of people in need, not a child in need ( of saving her life). Then I refuse to help these charities.
I would rather give my donation to my families fundraising for this little girl.0 -

I used to work as a specialist nurse for a children's cancer charity and my whole wage was funded by Children in Need.0 -

We can't be a charity as raising funds for 1 person needing treatment abroad. Now her cousin has been diagnosed with the same cancer we still can't register as family cannot benefit from any funds raised.
We wrote to them asking for assistance, and they said as we were only raising for an individual, they couldn't help. A child in need is a child in need, whether its 1 or 50??0 -

But had you have lived in my catchment area, I would have been able to care for the children, hence they would have benefitted from Children in Need. Thats what I was saying.0 -

That is a really sad and tragic situation, I appreciate help was clearly needed. I am not talking from a point of knowledge or experience here, but isn't it a danger that if families/individuals are able to benefit from the direct receipt of money from a charitable institution then it will be open to abuse?0
