The Mystery Shopping thread - VII

Just got a rather suspicious email from Hanseatic-Mystery Shopping saying they are looking for mystery shoppers. They are based in Masurenallee (wherever that is). I guess English isn't their first language, going by the grammatical errors - or is that just because they are scammers and we all know how much scammers pride themselves on good grammar, don't we?
Just thought I'd mention it - please do let me know if they are actually legit., but I think this is one for the trash can! Oddly enough all they ask for up front are name, address and phone number, but I guess the rest comes later.0 -
Hi Guys
I was wondering if anyone had done any high street shops for mystery outsource where you have to send your item and receipt to them to get a cash refund. It sounds slightly dodgy to me - but I may just be a paranoid shopper!Save me from spending...

They're a very genuine company they often do that with certain clothing and headwear. They pay everything back including postage.0 -

they will have a rough idea of when they are expecting a shopper so will be on their best behaviour around those times.
When I worked in fast food, the manager always knew (told by Head Office) what day a shop was booked for, but obviously a good manager never actually tells the staff otherwise it would be a waste of time. All the staff knew were that the manager knew when to expect a visit, I believe that was GapBuster doing that particular venue.0 -

I only have 1 :mad:0 -
So head office call and say "To get your bonus this month, your staff need to work hard on Wednesday between 12 and 3 for anyone who asks for a receipt... but don't tell the staff that or none of you will get your bonus
"

How busy do people expect MS to be? I ask because I'm only restarted mystery shopping in Jan. Are you talking pages of jobs being available? being rushed off your feet? I'd just be interested in what "busy" is considered to be!0

I've only been doing this for 6 months myself, so I'm probably not really qualified to answer - but I will anyway
I've certainly never seen pages and pages of jobs. I seem to get a few listed at a time, and if I'm lucky one or two will be close enough to do. I've had weeks where I have 2 or 3 jobs every day, just by picking up the odd one here and there. I "usually" have at least 2-3 jobs in a week.
I know some people do much more than me, but that's the level I've been working at for a while. It just seems really quiet at the moment.0 -
with regards to the burger place for gap. Long time ago i used to work at one. They do know about gapbuster mystery shoppers. They do not know what days they can come, but they do know the timings at which they come, and they know they onyl ever ask for a standard meal with a receipt, so you can tell em a mile away.
I used to do quite a few shops in london and its amazing the service you get after you say "can i have a receipt"
Has anyone noticed how retail eyes and gap assignments have literally almost disappeared these days? I used to do loads over 6 months ago but have not had a single gap or retail eyes one since. Gap took me off the burger place without a reason (prob cos i forgot a few receipts, but i had done so many in2 years i thought they could forgive!) and never respond to your emails when u ask them why!!0 -

I am finding my area very quiet too. I did five last weekend and then nothing until first weekend in May. I have had to turn down a couple because I work full time & can't do the time frames for the banking ones unless they are very local. Even so, compared to the last four months it's dire!SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
