Working From Home ?

Hi anthillmob
If you are currently off sick, I would expect your employer to have an absence management meeting with you at some point before you return to work. At this meeting they should be discussing with you the sort of help and support you will need because of your disability.
At this meeting I suggest that you put to your employer that you consider that working from home might be a reasonable adjustment for them to make in light of your disability. If they refuse, the onus will be on them to to justify why home working is not a reasonable adjustment in your case - this means they would have to have solid reasons for not doing it and will have to think through rationally whether or not it is possible for your job to be done from home. If they say no, and you do not think their reasons for saying no are justified, then you may have a case to go to an employment tribunal citing discrimination on the grounds of your disability. The Disability Rights Commission http://www.drc-gb.org/ are a great source of information and have a help line which you could call for further advice.
If you are called to an absence management meeting, I would recommend that you have your Union representative with you. If you are not a member of a Union, I would recommend that you join one as they will be an excellent source of help if you do need to fight your corner.
Hope this helps,

Hi anthillmob,
Sorry, thought you were on sickness absence! In that case, I think it would be in order to request a meeting with your manager to put to them that you would like home working because of your disability and, as Iday77 said, try and get it sorted before you go back.
Good luck

If you were able to carry out your duties properly and competently at your place of work then nothing has changed unless your disability has become worse. I can't see any reason why you would now need to work from home because you're disabled, when you didn't need to previously.0

couple of warnings
1) don't be tempted by any of those emails offering positions accepting payments on behalf of companies
2) doing "surveys" for cash takes forever to earn anything
3) "Click Per Pay sites" take forever as well
