Oh wow, I didn't think you could grow persimmon here, do they fruit/ripen?

Well, I don't know...mine died. We had caci abundantly in Milan, where summer temperatures are hotter and winter temperatures are lower, and the fruit are fairly late ripening, not unlike a late apple I guess, I thought it was worth ago. I think I'm going to wait now till we move because where we are now is warm, but not sheltered, and I think that COULD work. I probably wouldn't bother trying north of the M4 though ;):D

Yes they grow in Toscana (were my Dad lives). Not a fan, myself. IMHH noone who has tasted an underipe persimmon more than twice is ever likely to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I was just about to come to your defence, then you went and wrote this!

Prices fell everywhere. My ex father in law lived in one of the most exclusive locations in the UK yet places there dropped 40%.
Where I live according to that CH4 annual programme, is the 7th best in the UK, but it has not stopped prices falling 20%, and this in an area of almost full employment with faultless schools and so on.

Back to whether some live in a parallel universe, yes they do, although some people are genuinely busy. My decorator mate has seen no fall in business at all:confused:

We sold and bought in 1994. we sold a house for £43,000 we`d bought in 1991 for £38,000. It took over 6 months to sell.
Again in 1994 we bought over present house. In this Lakeland town - prices hadn`t fallen but again just taken a long time to sell.
There are some advantages to be an old bird ;) You get to live through a few recessions.

I will openly admit that I dont use property bee or rightmove or any other price search engine.

I dont care what my house is worth now.

I bought for a fair price at the time (1998)

In that time it has probably gone up and down in value

I bought it to live in not for its resale value,The same reason i bought my van for its use in getting me and tools to jobs.

If your not happy buying then rent.

If your not happy renting then buy.
lifes not that simple unfortunately. something called mortgage gets in the way.
