in Credit cards
Hi Everyone
My husband applied for a Tesco card as we were hpoing to get a low balance transfer rate. he had this message
Congratulations
We are delighted to inform you that your application for a Tesco Credit Card has been agreed. Please complete the information which follows and click on the NEXT button to take you to your Credit Agreement.
17.9% APR BONUS SHIMMER VISA .
If we dont carry on does that mean the account won't be opened as we do not want 17.9% and doing this has caused a credit search on his file.
Any Advice Welcome
Thanks

The 17.9% is just the standard APR after the 0% period ends. But you have been searched already.0

If you have not signed up for it you will not get it................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0

Unfortunately, the credit search will remain on file whether or not he accepts Tesco's offer, as I think you realise.
AFAIK, the two advertised 0% BT deals are Mastercards, not Visas.
Barclaycard, Capital One and Citi are well known for this sort of caper, but yours is the first report I can remember here involving Tesco.
I'd ring and query the terms of the offer. Tesco has reasonable telephone back-up. I think you can get Tesco Finance on 0800 505 555 and avoid the perishing 0870/0845 numbers.;)People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Snap there hands off 0 % for 14 months is not too be sniffed at..0

Why not ?? tesco do 0 % ... I have the bonus card from Tesco and i got 0%
for 14 months. Surely it's for everyone??0 -

So have I, but the OP has not been offered the advertised 0% Mastercard deal that her husband applied for.
Instead, he's been offered the Tesco Bonus Shimmer Visa, which I've never heard of. Have you?People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

I couldn't resist and clicked the little green button (with my shocker credit file!).... amazingly enough it suggested i'd been accepted but it looks same as old RBS screen which means they will decline me later - even though it let me tick box on CCA etc...?
Anyone experience this when they applied? My message looks like this:
Then when I completed, I got this message:
Would you say this is a decline?
Any help appreciated! Crappy limit but hey, if RBS underwrite them then i'll get declined cos they put an application block on me for applying for too many products2010 - year of the troll
