Still not finding much time to hang out here, suspect it's more of a winter thing with me. need to catch up with my food budget today and seehow I'm doing. Not too bad, but it would be nice to know exactly.

DS is busy with production of Les Mis all week, so going to be lots of coming and going to school at odd hours. So have planned meals properly! Did Mr M's this morning and spent more than planned, but got 4 packs of special offer cheese and saw mussels there as well.

Off we go, must make some coffee and clean up a bit before starting the real work of the day.

Hi folks. Lovely sunny day here in Robin Hood country!!

Not much OS here today from me but OH will be making a lovely roast dinner for later. :D

Did the washing on economy rate last night and it's been blowing on the line for a couple of hours. Cooked a ham hock in the slow cooker overnight so will pick the meat off that for sarnies etc.

Got dress rehearsal for WI panto this afternoon. Finally finished my costumes last night! Found a lovely piece of material for £1 on the market yesterday so I remade part of it!

A busy week in store as I also have meetings after work as well as the 3 panto performances. Will be getting up early to prepare evening meals in advance and hope to get to the gym a couple of times now I've made a good start!!

Roll on Mother's Day when I get to have a rest!!

(((Hugs))) to all who need them, get well wishes to those feeling under the weather and happy job hunting to those in need.

    Good morning guys,

Another one here with gorgeous sunshine and clear skies, we don't see enough of it. :D

I have been pottering around the house for the last couple of days and plan much of the same today as well as a walk with the kids. I have tidied all the paintwork throughout the house apart from the lounge which will be today's project. I want to take down the curtains (never been washed! ) and give the bay window a good wash down - cobwebs have been spotted in and amongst the pelmet :o There is a small pile of ironing to do while watching dancing on ice, the bedrooms were blitzed yesterday and so a swift hoover and bed making project is first on the list.

I have some lamb chops (minted of course) defrosting for tea to go with all the trimmings which I will prep before we go out and I think we will have some ham and cheese toasties for lunch.

I need to nip out tomorrow to get some flowers for Eric for Tuesday and hopefully a little pottering in the garden to follow. I can't believe it's a whole year since he left us, where has the time gone?

    Happy Birthday Tru,

Gentle hugs to all in need today. xx

    Snowy, :T :T :T

Well enough lazyness this morning, best get going.

    Smoky. xxxx

Good morning Money Savers. I feel sooooooooooo Oh, what;s the word for it? pious, that's it..... I made a whole batch of Ratatouille yesterday for freezing. Now what can I do with that mountain of parsnips?

Christabell, I can throughly recommend Delia's Parsnip, Parmesan and Sage bread http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/parsnip-parmesan-and-sage-bread,1421,RC.html
and curried parsnip and apple soup http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/curried-parsnip-and-apple-soup-with-parsnip-crisps,1271,RC.html

We had both of those (and parsnip crisps) in one meal to deal woith our glut of parsnips, and they were WONDERFUL. The bread is a really simple no-yeast bread,

The lady who wrote 'How to feed a family....' is in the daily mail today with some of her recipes. Apparently she only ever got £1,750 for that even though it's been rprinted 5 times and is even popular in america now.I would like to buy the book-but wish I could give the money directly to her lol!
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!
