Hi tweetyshells,
Vinegar really is a miracle worker on limescale so it's well worth buying some. I've added your thread to the main limescale thread as it helps to keep the suggestions together.

Earlier in the thread someone suggested making a bicarb and vinegar paste. Beware! bi carb + vinegar = CO2. Which is safe, but only as long as it is in a well ventalated space. Otherwise, if there isn't space for the CO2 to expand into it turns into a bomb, like me and my mates used to make out of kinder surprise eggs ( bicarb + vinegar in kinder surprise egg = explosion

I know this has been done to death, and I have tried lots of things, but I can't shift the limescale that has formed in the pan of my toilet.
I have tried those 'loo bloo' things in the cistern, I have tried bleach (but I think this just removes the colour rather than the limescale itself), have tried Harpic Limescale Remover tablets 2 at a time and left in for 10 hours, coke makes things worse, especially colourwise!
The only thing I haven't tried is vinegar, but I feel that if harpic tablets don't work when they are left for 10 hours, how is diulted vinegar going to shift anything? Also, if I decide to use the white vinegar, how much would I need?
Thanks in advance for your replies - I am 36 weeks pregnant so scrubbing vigerously (sp?!) isn't really an option at the moment!

Have you tried Gel-Kilrock? It is recommended by a friend who is a cleaner.
I know it's available in Robert Dyas.0 -

I used a knife on ours and ended up with greyish 'scratch' marks :-( Pumice stone works as does a piece of red brick ( make sure brick hasn't got any pebbles in it).Nothing in it, nothing in it but a ribbon round it .....0

We have a really bad limescale problem. I buy the neutradol loo tablets from wilkos, 2 in at a time overnight, and scrub with the loo brush in the morning. I do sometimes have to do it several nights in a row but persist and it will work!0
