Nokia 6300, 4 months old, dust under screen problem

I have a Nokia 6300 thats on a contract, its 4 months old and dust is beginning to get under the screen. On closer investigation it looks like the metal fasia has come apart slighty on one side of the phone. The phone is never treated roughly and is either in my pocket or on my desk at work / home. Slightly OT but can anyone advise me what to do with my 6300 which doesn't charge properly? I have to wiggle the charger plug for ages to get it in just the right position then it's fine if I don't touch it. I hear it's a common fault. Can I fix it myself?
