Going to bite the bullet and tell my mate that i just cant go out for the meal part. Im more than willing to pop down for a quick glass of wine later though. Hopefully she will understand that its close to xmas etc.

I am such a donut. The lego was in my bag last night when we got home and i forgot all about it until 10 mins ago when i asked Joe to get my purse  Opps. They cant go in his stocking now. Will stil make use of them though.

Have an appointment today with Joe so slow start to the morning. Will still have to go into work. Depending on the time we finish today i might just take Joe into work with me and get some bits ready to do over the weekend. It would save an hour going back to the childminders and then to the train station.

Also managed to destroy my slow cooker last night, didnt realise that the plug was on the cooker. Its melted onto the hob and is rather screwed! Will see if my dad can fix it tomorrow.

Travel has gone up this week as ive been having to get the train home. And of course the buses and train today. Will sit down tonight and sort the budget for November so i know where i am.

Still havent told friend that i cant go tonight :o Will have to be brave and tell her later.

Well i feel like the worlds worst mum. I was wrong about Joe. Today he was confirmed as having ASD / possible ADHD symtoms too.

I have just got it all so wrong. Ive got a huge pack of info. They are telling me stuff about DLA??? Im just so confused.

Anyway i really must go and get the train to work now. I really dont want to go :(
  • Sorry to hear about Joe discovering the lego. Because I'm so forgettful, if I put anything in my bag I don't want OH or the children to see I always put it in another bag. To late this time, but might help in the future.

Doh, hope your dad can save the slow cooker.

You are not the worlds worst mum otherwise Joe would not be florishing (sp) at scouts etc. If I was nearer I would come over and grab you by the shoulders and give you a shake followed by a big hug. Joe now has a diagnoses use it to put things in place to support Joe. You no doubt feel over whelmed by the diagnoses and the huge info pack. Give yourself time to absorb the info before you make to many decisions. I can't help with any DLA claim but the lovely people on the benefits boards should be able to help.

    Thanks Baileys Babe :A

Im still just so shocked. I keep saying still if he gets diagnosed. BUT he has been. I really need to get my head around it :o

Now the ASD has been confirmed i can see it in Joe when he is at home. Which makes life even harder. For example something i would send Joe to his room for i now start thinking - is this right. Its only been a day and a bit but im sure we will work it out. But i am now questioning how i treat Joe.

So far ive had some really un helpful comments from friends and family.
My dad just said no he hasnt, he is coming round slowly, i think he is beinging to see that parts of Joes behavour is just not right. Even if he is ok going out with grandad etc. It also explains the part of Joe that rides his bike down steep hills / no real road sense when crossing. But yet he can drive a go kart with real skill

And after 3-4 years of me trying to control / change his behavour nothings worked. I can get Joe to contain his behavour for a few weeks, but then things just go back to being twice as bad. The ASD now explains this and im not feeling too bad at having raised a 'bad' child. Because he is simply not.

One of my bosses asked how i was on Friday, admittly for the the couple of hours i was there, not alot got done. So i explained that Joe was ASD. He said oh dont worry he will grow out of it!! In a way he was trying to be nice, but i need to be realisic, Joe will not grow out of this. It could get harder or he find it easier as he gets older.

Its strange, ive escorted children with ASD / ADHD / Aspgergers etc and never realised that Joe was. Im just greatful that now i can get the support network that Joe needs at school, ive a meeting following Joes temp exclusion tomorrow morning and CAHMS are sending the report to school but i can at least explain to them about this.

Im now worried about Joes outside activites, do i tell Beavers/Cubs, the go karting, will they stop him from going, just in case  Or do i not tell them as he is ok there. And the final question, when do i tell Joe about this?? Or dont i??

Ive been reading through the info pack and have decided that i need to go on a parenting class on ASD because i have so many questions that need answering.

Im so greatful also to this site, i could write all this down in a diary, but i know i wouldnt keep it updated. The suport i have recieved from this site is so good, TBH its better than my RL support at times.

Ok, I promise to get back onto the money saving stuff soon!

Had my meeting with the school, also passed on the fact that Joe is now confirmed as ASD. They think this will help get him his statement. But they have also said that i need to put a claim in for DLA to help get it. Im not to sure on that fact at all but will check it out.

Now my situtation has changed its even more important to get debt free. So i need to really crack on.

Ive also spoken to my boss today, to apologise for all the time off and to explain that i may need to leave early for Joe. Hes agreed that i can work from home when and if needed. If it all gets too much then he is happy to move some of my work load. I still really need to get my hours up though as im so far below 40 for the last few weeks. Must concentrate more at home! Even if its just an hour.

Did my big shop on Saturday, £86 something, so need to sort my sigs and update my little book. No other money spent!!!

    Well afternoon,

Obv didnt go out on Friday, i did give a friend that was going £10 to buy a round of drinks for everyone. It was my peace offering.

Big shop on Sat was £71.67 on food. We have loads of meat to keep us going. And had some lovely mackeral for dinner on Sat. On Sun, one of the packs of mince was turned into 1 big shep pie and 2 indivdual ones. Also made another batch of veggie burgers for the freezer. So other than fresh bits we should be ok for the month. And it included 3 bottles of wine. Only one left now though as dad and GF were round. Think i need to get smaller wine glasses!

£19.98 has come out of my spends for a new bin and kettle that was also.needed.

Slow cooker that i had for all of 5 mins is rather screwed. The wire had melted and dad said not to take the chance with it. Ive saved the pot for it though as its them that i usually break!

The weekend was pretty peaceful, went to the park on Sat to kick leaves. I love that!!! And Joe got his wish, nearly, of having a whole PJ day on Sunday. We did get dressed to nip to the shops for chocolate though!

So really, life is ok. We are getting there. Everyone seems happy which is good.

Oh ebay book didnt sell. Must try harder to get bits on. Wont have time tonight, flat seems to be a tip. Must try tomorrow while Joe is at Beavers.

    What a messed up day.

But the breadmaker on last night or so i thought. Just didnt press start! So no bread this morning for Joes lunches. Spent £1.50 on a egg mayo sarnie from the deli.

Then went to the train station, first the train was 15 mins late and then it was cancelled  So went back up to the ticket office to get my £2.60 back and ordered a taxi as i couldnt be late today, what with all the other stuff. So that cost me £12. I will take it out of my spends budget.

On a brighter note, i heard my first christmas song on the radio yesterday, even if it is a bit early.

Ive also bought a DVD for Joes xmas eve hamper, £2 in tescos. So ive made a start. Need to go through the xmas box at home and see whats what, and what else we need.

Im really looking forward to xmas, i will have 2 weeks off which im really looking forward too. I havent had a week of for over 18 months now and it will be nice to have some fun with Joe and just be silly!

Also this month the DWP money that was owed from around 7 years ago has now all been paid back, so an extra £10 a month for Vanquis and its my last payment of £40 to argos!

So at least thats two less DD's and a extra £60 a month for debt :j

    Morning,

The train wasnt late today!!! Lol.

The school have been on the phone today, about yesterday. We will get there though. Joe was upset as he has been told he cant go on a school trip without me going. Its next Thursday so will have to sweet talk the boss. I have to go as its not fair on Joe otherwise. Its just that maybe now i really to need to think about DLA? I also had to leave a bit early yesterday as Joe had a tantrum with the CM.

Anyway, i was pleased with the amount of housework that i got done last night. Dinner was ready for Joe when he got back from Beavers and his bath had even been run :)
