Make sure you use the REMOVAL TOOL

Reboot
To disable the Resident Shield, please:- open AVG User Interface
- double-click on the Resident Shield
- un-tick the option "Resident Shield active"
- save the changes

Not sure about the 'reputable' bit,myp2p is a valid and reputable site and there is no virus worms been using it for the past 18 months
but, more to the point, it provides links for other programmes to use such as sopcast, tvu and so on. As the provenance of these is unknown there could well be viruses, worms and spyware in them. I wouldn't know as I use linux 
However, myp2p also gives links to websites with embedded flash versions of sports events such as football matches so all you're running there is your browser. Assuming you have proper protection for your browser and don't start clicking on things willy nilly there shouldn't be too much of a problem. Well, no more than from other dodgy web-sites, anyway

I think thats whats happened. One of the 'client' programs has infected the computer.
Its also FULL of 'videoegg' which is classic for dodgy vid programs:idea:0
