why is this good......no other supermarket does white chocolate at that price

That white choc is the best - I prefer it to cadburys dream and its not far off milkybar and @ 25p for 100g you can't go wrong :T Not so impressed with the milk choc though.

Another favourite "Basics" not mentioned is their citrus pack. Usually about 10 Mandarins/Clementines/Satsumas (whatever is available to them) for around 60p. This compares very favourably IMHO to the £1.60 odd they charge for their usual 6 citrus fruit in a bag (though on an eternal 2 for £2 offer).

Quality wise I find the Basics pack of fruit appears to be much fresher / better tasting than the more expensive ones. I've had to throw over half of the more expensive ones away in the past because they are woody or squishy.

    HTH - Rufus.

Haha, I was looking through this thread to see if anyone talked about the fruit. Most of the fruit is okay - although the vegetables - UGH!!

I buy a lot of tomatoes (salads, sandwiches, sauces etc) and as they were cheaper I kept on getting the Basics range. And they would always be disgusting. Really squashy and tasteless. I even got two packets in a row that had mouldy tomatoes in them (and they were well 'in date'). I got so annoyed and fed up that I wrote to Justin King, the Chief Exec. He sent me a £20 voucher! But I still don't buy the tomatoes anymore - learnt my lesson!

However, I do agree with most of the other posts - the orange juice in particular. Fantastic.

Just won £50 of Sainsbury Vouchers...and as I normally shop at Lidl.....it's sheer TORTURE trying to find value for money. No non-food bargains that I could find, only 3 toothbrushes for 74p, and some A4 paper sheets (500) for £4.49.
Well and truly put orf Sainsburys.

Ken, Kazzea on the Pigsback thread posted this link
http://www.unwantedvoucher.co.uk/ which could perhaps be useful to you?

(Otherwise, Sainsbury's Maple Fudge - like Thorntons Butter Tablet - at £1.49 is way too nice ;))

Sainsburys Lemonade (both normal and diet) I think its only 29p for a 2 litre bottle, tases nice, much better than Tesco, Sommerfield and Asda own brand.

Custard creams, jaffa cakes (58p for 24), smoked back bacon (great for using in cooking dishes like soups, chicken and bacon salad etc, but nice enough for a fry-up too), flour - OK, teacakes and crumpets - yum. Ditto packs of apple pies and cherry bakewells. Basic deoderant (roll-on and spray) is very cheap and I love the scent! Very floral and feminine. Basic washing powder is OK for everything but delicates, as it seems to make things feel a bit "hard".
Basic loo rolls are environmentally friendly, their paper fibres break down very quickly in the drainage system. That is probably their downfall, as far as I'm concerned, as the paper disintegrates in your hand if you don't use great wads of the stuff! Ewww.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
