Tonight's TONIGHT

Just watched the programme tonight and I think ML is seriously losing the plot. Why waste time with that family of rich wasters who can plainly afford anything when you could be helping real people save real money. Would you be offended to go into a 'low pay" house? The sight of that smug bloke looking at ML, plainly thinking, ' well I don't care what the grocery bill is, I can afford it' made my blood boil.

Get real Martin, start dealing with real people!!

Maybe he needed a rich schmuck to get the biggest impact, if you could convince someone who doesn't care about the cost of the grocery bill then you can convince almost anyone?

I'll reserve judgement until I watch the program later tonight.

The problem is when more people downshift, prices will (as stated on the programe) go up, as the supermarkets will be losing their profits from the none sale of top end stuff.

But if he'd done a programme on two people on low incomes, they wouldn't be eating high end stuff anyway so it would hardly have made a programme on the subject...

even people on a perceived high wage can lose their jobs or have a total financial change in life too and they are the ones least likely to realise just how much money they are wasting.

I found the programme interesting. If someone who is used to top range food doesn't notice the difference, it gives me more confidence to try more things that so far I haven't because I don't think my family will accept them. We do have a lot of value products but there are some that we never try.
Maybe now we will try more. We are on a low fixed income btw.

I agree with EstherH this programme has given me the confidence to try some more value products, even DH who was watching it with me asked if I could save any more money, he is willing to give it a try. Bit disappointed that I did a big shop yesterday but next month will try some more value products.
