PN just out of interest have you got a pet, would you be allowed to keep one?
Just wondered whether having one would help you when you feel anxious as you did last night.
A beautiful little cat on your lap would be a great calming thing, specially if you got one of those that doesn't move!! Can't remember what theyre called. From your previous post I assume you have a horse, or do you just have the head in the freezer!!(thats sarky joke stuff)
And I can't as I have no idea where I'll be next week, next month, next year. I have no roots. I might not stick around here...
I love cats. One day, when I am settled, I want one... or a fluffy bunny
I have never ridden a horse even. Horses are for wealthier people than I've ever been. I touched one once, when I was about 11, I was even allowed to sit on it for a minute.
I have no freezer, I'd have to go out and source a horse's head for the neighbour's mat.0 -
Hi Sue, just wondered if your boys (I'm assuming boys) are teenagers and if you would know as to possibe help benefits they would be entitled to when they are 18. I have fought all the way for special schooling etc, statements, but am getting to the point where I'm gonna have to fight for him as an over 18 year old. Thinking in advance I know, but wondering about housing benefit, learning facilities, help to get into the workplace, maintenance will stop - or should it?
Sorry to go on just wondered if there might be somewhere where I can start searching on my next quest.:T0 -
I do love motorbikes, sport and rock music...which is not particularly helpful when you work in an office full of females (alas not working at the moment).
That I can relate to! Although I love my heels and handbags I'm also a total petrolhead and would, if I had the money, go all round the world following F1. I'd also do the Paris Dakar and the Mongol Rally if I had the chance. When I was a kid, I loved speedway. You could tell how good it had been by how covered in mud you got standing at trackside. There was something very satisfying in coming out of the cold and having a nice warm shower to get rid of it all. Hi Pastures, any noise yet? Just wondered as people will be coming home from the pubs from about now. If you can get through your first Saturday without too much trouble that will bode well for the others. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Thank goodness. I was quite shaky and out of sorts. And that's the second thing that's knocked me this week, so overall, it'll take me about 10 days to be "back to normal", where that means not worrying about anything.0 -
Great news. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Hiya, my boys are 12 and 11 in 10 days so I am as eekk about it as you. I know youngest will be put into contact with the adult team when he is coming up to school leaving age, where they will help him in the transition from school to work/living independantly.
I am assuming maintenance will stop once they leave school (although knowing my ex, he will try to stop it once they are 16 or I find a job - he sees paying it as doing me a favour!)
As for anything else..... :eek:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Funny you should mention speedway, I go all the time and actually run a website bringing live results from all the meetings.

I guessed about the speedway from the pic, but never realised that you were an F1 fan too. Do you have a favourite team or driver? As you can probably tell from my username I'm a rabid Ferrari fan, though I do really like the idea of Ross Brawn doing well this year in his new team. I used to fancy the drivers when I was younger, but as the three that I had a crush on died (Petersen, Villeneuve and Senna) I've given up on that now for their sake. Senna died on my birthday so that's even more gutting. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? When you say the adult team, are they linked in with the social services?
I was told once that the ex should keep paying for a child with disabilities until he is 21, not sure if it's true though.
PN I really think you should consider an indoor cat/rabbit as I know exactly how you feel having had your boat sail through choppy seas last week. Everything will be hypersensitive to you at the mo, having a beautiful calm pet to touch would really help you. Please think about it.:A0
