So they don't have turd patrol in prisons anymore?
When they have a bucket & they don't want to do a brown one & leave it to smell out the cell, they wrap it in looroll & lob it out the windows.
Turd patrol is where they take it in turns to clear them up:eek:  :eek:0 -
sounds like some childrens homes maybe we can sue0

In all fairness, thanks to the ever accurate media in this country most people have a very rose tinted view of what prison is like. It is an awful place to end up, and whilst no doubt those who go there generally deserve it, members of the public generally think it is much better than it actually is.busiscoming2 wrote: »From all that I see and hear they have too many 'nice' things in prison these days.
Can't argue with this, however.busiscoming2 wrote:If don't want to go to prison - it's simple - obey the law.!"MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? IF WORD GETS OUT THATI'M MISSING FIVE HUNDRED GIRLS WILL KILL THEMSELVES."0 -
I read last week that the Scottish government has already paid out £11m in compensation - i think it's scandalous

I must say, I find it quite amusing that you go to a lawyer for advice, then decide you are going to come onto a forum and ask a bunch of people who have no legal training whatsoever.Dan

Whilst ordinarily your point would be perfectly valid in relation to online forums, there are actually numerous members on this site with specialist knowledge and training in various areas, including the legal profession. For example, I can promise you that I didn't have to use Google to find the information I gave in my first post, nor do I have to use it in relation to the legal based advice I give elsewhere on the siteI must say, I find it quite amusing that you go to a lawyer for advice, then decide you are going to come onto a forum and ask a bunch of people who have no legal training whatsoever.
You do make a good point, though. People all too often nowadays think that Google makes them an instant expert on any subject, and even those who don't subscribe to that way of thinking don't realise that when asking for advice on online forums they are often only going to come across people who do."MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? Uhm...I thought prison was a punishment? As for slopping out then so be it if they don't like it then they shouldn't commit the crime.
It's about time we ignored the Human Rights Act because we are the only stupid country in Europe that follows it to the letter:mad:0 -

Of course there will be the odd person on the forums who does have the training and knowledge, but the vast majority obviously don't! The OP is lucky that you happened to be on the forums and had the specialist knowledge he/she is looking for. And in actual fact, you've agreed with his/her solicitor.Uhm...I thought prison was a punishment? As for slopping out then so be it if they don't like it then they shouldn't commit the crime.

You are, of course, right in saying prison is a punishment. But the HRA is a piece of UK legislation and therefore we are the only country that should be following it.

So can an elderly person who has to use a commode at night claim compensation if they have to empty it in the morning? Anyone know which government department we apply to?0
