Boots Grabbit Bargains Part 8..Read first post for current bargains

I had a brilliant shop today after abstaining from Boots for over a week (very hard to do!)

I had about an hour of wandering around, all on my own and I used the pointers from the first thread to find some bargains (thanks Liverbird!)

I split things up into two baskets, one to pay with points and one to use vouchers with.

My first foray was the bodyform, I had loads of vouchers from a previous visit so I bought 8 more along with 2 lots of the N17 tan wipes and 2 free brushes. I also had a skincare voucher so thought I would try the Avene discover kit for £5.95 but to be honest, I'm not that impressed

I forgot to give the Sa the bodyform vouchers and we got in a bit of a muddle with it but I accidentally gave her 9 vouchers instead of 8 and the till took the extra £1 off my total bill!
so...

8 Bodyform = £7.92
2 N17 Tan Wipes = £3.98
2 free N17 Brushes = £0.00
Avene discover kit = £5.95 + £5 voucher

Total to pay ..... £3.85 + 455 points, plus another skincare voucher

2nd shop was to pay with the points I had already earned.

I found the kids Soltan duo pack and couldn't believe it was on bogof at only £2.49, thats a real bargain so I bought 2 packs of those ( this is Wakefield by the way and they had about 10 on the shelf upstairs) Interestingly, the sa said the reason they were reduced is because they didn't have enough room for them to have a stand on their own.


I also bought the 4 different Moroccan Rose body souffles as I had an idea they might be on a bogof but wasn't certain. I also bought 3 of the Flower Therapy orange and calendula bath salts as they look so gorgeous only to find they were actually reduced from 74p to 49p!

so....

Flower Therapy bath salts x3 147 points
Moroccan Rose body souffle x4 98 points
Soltan duo kids pack x2 249 points

Total points to pay 494

I also bought another Oil of olay wipes thingy but the sa said it wasn't the correct one for that voucher and handed me a different one in black called Olay total effects 7x age defying cleansing cloths which looks even nicer than the one I chose.

All in all, a very worthwhile foray in the Boots realm :j

Yes they have the Avene bag on the skin care section above the avene stuff -well one perched on a stand but it looks as if they would have more and just put them out one at a time. But it says 2 avene products-was that always the case and someone worked out you get it with anything or is that a change of promo? Not sure and the thread is so long can't work it out.


Couldn't see any packs of 2.49 suncream and any free brushes but there were sunstarter kits half price £6 to £3.

I did ask about the Avene bags in the Wakefield store but the sa seemed very puzzled by it and said the only offer they had had for that was last summer! ( she looked at me as if I was a bit missing in the brains department) I didn't want to let her know how I knew about them though so just tried to look a bit thick and ambled off lol!

I have not received skincare vouchers twice now and usually I wouldn't bother but I'm not amused by Boots today as all the reduced stuff went through at highers prices and it took me so long to get my money back I missed my train. So do you call Cs and complain or just show your local boots -my local is a tinpot with no ac m/ch and the no vouchers hapened at big ones where I had my ds round my legs shouting about toys /sweets etc

Re overcharging -if this had been Tesco I'd have had all my purchases R&Red today! as it was the Sa questioned me and said "did I want to return it to then buy it at the lower cost and by this time I was getting annoyed so I just said oh just refund me which meant i got 100 points for a non purchase-the least they owe me after all the overcharging.

Oh why can't these Boots people just put a big shelf with MSERs here notice with all the best glitches/reductions etc, it would be much easier.

I was in East Kilbride Centre today and they had plenty of the free brushes. If I get a chance I'll try and make it into town to try out the Avene offer

That seems to be what has happened - your suposed to buy the product but the till just lets it through fee - so as long as the SA doesn't stop it you'll be ok. - I've not been able to find one but that's what I believe from what I've read.
