It's Britain gone mad again - just out of interest, which paper?

It was the good old Daily Mail, and also the free papers distributed in London by the publishers of the Daily Mail.

I don't really approve of people dictating what you can or can't eat when pregnant either, but equally I wouldn't deliberately go out and drink more than the recommended alcohol limits knowing that this could lead my child to be born with serious learning difficulties and physical problems, and if I did succumb to temptation to do this, I wouldn't feel particularly good about myself and want the whole world to know about it.

It's not really the same as eating soft cheese or liver IMO. More like smoking or using recreational drugs when pregnant. Does there come a point when you see a pregnant women doing something which has a strong likelihood to harm the child where you should speak up, or is it always down to the women right up to the point of delivery? I'm not sure how I feel about this tbh so am interested in what others think.

Yes Feelie - it's awful. OH's family were over on the weekend and worked out it was either Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve.
Christmas Eve we were staying at their house and OH was plastered so his bro was saying he was surprised OH managed it as he was dribbling he was that drunk. MIL & FIL were saying OMG they had sex in our house, we didn't hear anything! Hello, after 9 years we've practised being quiet in your house!!
New Year they were at our house but I was blotto - have the pics to prove it!!

This made me laugh out loud :rotfl: Not good when in an office with 4 other people and they want to know what the joke is!!
Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

Floyd Peter arrived 9th July 2011 (1 day early) :D

So far the cheapest place I have found is here for 120 capsules for £5.57.

Thanks Tickle, will try there - saves me searching all over for the best price if someone's already looked into it. Have you bought these ones? If so, does it says how much to take and when/if to increase the does etc?

Nicki now that you have said she had already had a pint I think the landlord or whomever it was, was right to refuse to serve her anymore!
Aftera all "the management reserve the right to refuse service" ;) If she wants to risk having more than thats her choice but why should the LL be forced to help her?
Also rightly or wrongly I would think badly of a pub if I saw an obviously pregnant woman sat drinking a pint in there.
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Nicki - as a carrier of twins, after 5 seconds of being scaaned at my 11 week scan they immediately saw two. In fact they went looking for a third "just in case". And from your 13 week bump picture, I was nowhere as big as you are. Dunno if that helps or not!

Thanks Icklebeans. I have to step away from google and stop panicking about this, as when I search there seem to be loads of stories of twins who were missed at all the scans up until the 20 week one. That must be the minority of cases though rather than the norm, and as my 11 week one was so clear I really can't believe they would have missed it.

I love this site, it tells you how far you are each day, so is handy for working out what you will be on holiday, when you 'did it' and stuff.

    http://www.pregnology.com/faralong.php

Enter your due date and you then get a list of days and gestation and how many days left :D

But landlords serve alcohoholics or people who could have liver cirrhosis that shouldn't be drinking - I personally wouldn't look down on a pub if I saw a pg lady drinking 1 or 2 drinks but after this I would think it was wrong.
Nicki - I personally wouldn't say anything because knowing my luck she'd knock my block off!!

Oh, I don't like debates - am opting out now.
