I haven't actually seen my GP since finding out (although spoke to a Dr last night when they called with my blood test results though). It was the midwife who wanted all of mine and quite a lot of OH's family history at the booking in apt. The midwife also asked whether I'd thought about birth options, what level of anomoly testing I would like (nuchal fold etc) and whether I planned to breast feed. All felt a bit premature at about 8 weeks but I guess they like to find out!

Tine- thanks for the tip on lentil soup- I actually had lentil lasagne for tea last night and do eat quite a lot of red lentils. Will have to up it!

Just waiting for my Mum to deliver her dog as we are having her for the weekend.

Still catching up so sorry if its been said but you sound like ur diet is full of iron so maybe you are having too much milk which inhibits absorption of iron or not enough Vit C which facilitates absorption of iron ;) you should try to have orange juice or something else high in vitC to wash down ur iron tabs:D

Thinking of that, am i allowed to fly when im 11 1/2 weeks? And when will the MW do my scan, before or after the holiday? If you know :)

    xx

Yes. It depends on the airline but most will let you fly to the end of the second trimester on a self certification, and a bit later with a medical certificate that you are fit to fly. I'm off to Cyprus in a fortnight when I'll be 16 weeks, which is fine both with the airline and with my doctor.

Early in the pregnancy is said to be the best time to fly, as you aren't big enough to get too uncomfortable in cramped seats, and the risks of a pre-term labour in mid air are very small. Not sure those oxygen masks which drop from the ceiling are as good as gas and air :rotfl:

You'll need to check with your mw re your scan date and let her know when you will be away so it isn't booked in for then. If its a nuchal scan though, I don't think they can do those before 11 weeks so it would probably be after you get back.

Haha at the moment i want to buy everything :D But OH says to wait until we come back from our holiday, as i'll be 12 weeks then :)

I'd wait till after 12 weeks too... and yes you're allowed to fly at 11 1/2 weeks - it's not till later you need to think about notifying the airline :)
The scan will be whenever the hospital books it... round here they are funny about you re-booking it too but you can try if they happen to book it for whilst you're away. A lot of hospitals do seem to be very short of appointments though so you might have to take what you can get  OR pay to go private...

EA - not sure about pre-eclampsia thing but I would think they'd be wary of it.
The current advice is that if u or OH has peanut allergy you shouldn't eat peanuts while preg.
I got to pick my scan appointment as MW booked it over the phone during my booking app :j I asked for a morning appointment so OH could have a lie in :A he usually gets up at 6am poor thing

I can't believe the forum will be shut!!! _pale_ just glad its not this weekend coz then I wouldn't be able to tell you about my scan!! I'm almost wetting myself with excitement!! also wondering how on earth to distract Mum long enough so she doesn't realise I'm finding out the gender - fingers crossed at that moment Chris will poop and she can go change him :rotfl:

Ah thanks :) I'll go to the travel agent at some point to let them know.

I just went and bought a load of mcvities go ahead bars to stop me feeling sick, and my manager made me eat a piece of ginger that he has lol.
He was saying "trust me, it helps"
He's excited about it all for some reason :P
