Wow this thread moves on quickly. I'm still dealing with bump no 4's morning sickness, but reading about all you ladies much further on is bringing back the realities of pregnancy lol.

Sorry it wasn't the real deal AM. I found with my second and even more so with the third I had weeks of period type pains, but the actual "proper" labours went really quickly.
In fact no 3 was nearly born on the hospital corridor, probably only 30 mins all in. So perhaps its a few aches and pains now for a quicker birth later?

I am worried that no 3 was so quick that no 4 may not get to the hospital. I have wondered about a home birth but plenty of time to decide.

Oh right, no definately not that.
    How many weeks were you?

27ish - I had no idea was in day care at the time, and like you, machine picked it up. They just felt like brackston hicks.

31ish - Felt them at home, drank solid for about 2 hours and they went away.

and 33, few days before I had him, felt like proper contractions that time. Was in hospital and I was hooked up and Doctor was called round as they were strong. But I drank loads and stopped them again.

    Clicking! That doesn't sound nice.

My boyfriend is Ok with the kicking, however when my nipple leaked the other day that made him feel sick!!

Your BF would hate me then... My hubby had his back to me in bed so I kept wiping 'booby juice' (his term) behind his ears... I found it hilarious... He was not so amused ;) He does love feeling it move though... He was all cuddled up round me feeling it have hiccups the other night...

I'll ask you a question while you are here.

My hospital like you to stay in overnight, to make sure you have breastfeeding nicely established.

I'm hoping to go home without a stay, and will have my Mum arriving a couple of days afterwards, and before hand she'll be on the phone. She was a breastfeeding counsellor for many years - do you think that is enough BF support, or do I really need an overnight stay to make sure I'm getting it right?

I've read quite a lot, and I'm confident that I'll ask for help if I need it, and that if it is painful, then I'll get help, and won't just give up, or feel that I can't do it.

    What do you think?

Sorry FG, didn't mean to make you feel sick :p

Right... The thing with babies... When they're born they tend to have a really good feed straight away... Then they can go for a loooooooooong time before they want to feed again... Maybe as much as 8/10/12 hours... So really, when you're in hospital and they're trying to establish breastfeeding, there's a chance your baby won't want to feed again before you're due to leave anyway... Its good that you're determined to do it, and know where to turn for help, I think that's worth a bit more than someone who stays in overnight to 'establish' feeding, then goes home to a family who have never seen someone breastfeed and doesn't know who can help when they have some trouble... Really only you can decide if you feel supported enough to go home straight away... (But IMO, your Mum is probably going to be more accessible to you at home than all the midwives running round after a ward of postnatal women and trying to make sure all their paperwork is completely up to date...)

His ears are no different... He swiped it off straight away while jumping out of bed and telling me how gross I am... ;)

Feely, you do what you feel is right for you. I know a few women (myself included) who's experiences in hospital with people trying to help them establish BF has ruined it for them. You would be more comfortable at home anyway. So long as everything is else is going well, I would go home.

I'm bored..... and was looking forward to a story about these demon cats that steal breast milk attacking Krystals OH's ears.
