hee hee, we'll have to kick you out now for splashing the cash :rotfl:
We never eat at the tableI use it as storage for random rubbish!
At least you have a table! In fact, I think what I've thrown all the ironing on is supposed to be a dining table but I haven't seen the surface of it in months!
It needs getting rid of to make room in the grand revamp, then I'm going to replace it with a different shape one plus chairs - just in time for baby to believe we've always been civilised grownups and eaten at the table!
Got very stern looks from OH when I suggested we give it away on FreeCycle - turns out it's a family heirloom and older than he is! (ooooooold)

Elle true MSE would be to go cinema on orange wednesday
right I'm off now coz my hands keep swelling up due to way I have to sit to type on mum's lappy! nighty night hun x
Indeed it would - if our local (independent) cinema took part in Orange Wednesdays  Nearest one that does is in Hull so £5.40 to get over the Bridge before even smelling the popcorn!
Night night xx Think I'd best be off too - battling to keep my eyes open and my mouth closed!0 -
morning all!:D
hope everyone's ok?
DH managed to register Fergus without him being there, so that all went well. He had to cycle there so I'm not sure what we'd have done if we had to take him!!!;)
MFD please don't apologise for detail in your story to follow, I really love all the detail I can get!;)
Also I've been doing lots of thinking about why I found it so helpful to write about and talk about labour, thought I'd share those thoughts here in case anyone finds them useful...
One of the things I know from my work is that PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) tends to occur when someone feels fear and powerlessness, and for whatever reason dosn't have the space to process those feelings. I'm not suggesting that for most women labour is traumatic enough at all to come into the PTSD category (although it can be for some:eek:) but I think these things are also true in a milder form.
The main ways we encourage the person to process the traumatic memory is to allow them a safe space in which to tell the story, and reimagine what happened. People often do this for themselves in their dream life.
So, I was napping on day 3 of him being here, and I was dreaming about labour (it wasn't a scary dream) and he woke and cried, so I woke mid dream. I had this feeling of being pulled away too soon from something I wanted to explore more.
It occurred to me then that most new mums don't get space to dream. So maybe the story telling part becomes more important in us processing what happened.
Anyhow, it made me think that one day I'd like to set up a website (yourbirthstory.co.uk or something) and invite women to write and post their stories in a gently therapeutic way IYSWIM? I thought it might be a great resource for pregnant first timers too!;)
Anyhow, I'll stop waffling,:o I just wanted to say 'yes! let's tell our stories in lots of detail, it's really good for us!!!':j

Did someone call for a night owl?
Don't think I'm going to be up late tonight.. been yawning solidly for the last half an hour since I got home!
Just trying to work out if I can be bothered to stand up for forty mins to straighten my hair - might just take the mirror off the wall so I can sit on the floor and do it!
AM, sorry to hear no joy yet on the job front - what is it your OH does?
Krystal, glad to hear your DH is safe.. like you say, paying the mortgage is the most important thing
I had a teary chat with OH on Sunday morning cos I didn't want him going for his boss' job just for the money (and feeling like he had to for the sake of me and baby). We can survive on his salary as it is now so I was trying to get him to work out if he actually wanted the job - it's desk based and he's more the hands-on type. Now we got this other application there doesn't seem a lot of point in him applying but I can't tell him we've got the application so I'm just going quiet on the subject for now, still two weeks until the official closing date.
Glam, can't wait to see your scan pics!
Nicki, hope yours goes well tomorrow.. is everything sorted for you to have your care at the private hospital? Can I ask, do you pay as you go along, or just get a big bill at the end?

MFD, if your around.... I'm going to be at our breastfeeding group this afternoon
I had a crap nights sleep too Tine... Took hours to drop off... Kept complaining at hubby for his comedy snoring... Then just as I was dropping off, Aimee woke up thirsty... So I started all over again... On the plus side... Hubby's put Jewel Quest on the DS (He offered to do it in Jan!) so I lay and played that for a while before the battery light came on... Think we need a new battery pack, it runs out rather quick I think... But then Aimee likes to play on it too so maybe she was just running it down...
I've got the midwife this afternoon... They've given me the last appointment of the day because I was supposed to be taking Aimee to the Paediatrition... But in true hospital style that appointments been put back till Monday next week...
Might go and recline in bed with my book for a couple of hours before I have to get ready to go out though....A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
