Phoenix traders - what is your most successful selling technique?

Hi all

I'm not (and never have been) a Phoenix Trader, but I was a Barefoot Book stallholder and as such I bought a Phoenix display stand (green wire one that folds flat). I no longer sell BF Books and therefore don't need this any more.

I am in Nottingham - if anyone would like to make me an offer, please PM me.

Hi mrsd,

Hope your'e enjoying your new business. I don't have a website, so don't go to that section of the site; but I do know that in the near future, all Traders are to be given their own website etc. I expect that the existing ones have been frozen for the time being.

If you look at the September newsletter in downloads, on the back page is an article on what's changing, and one of the afternoon sessions at the roadshow will be telling us what will happen. So only another week or so to wait.

Hi, I've just had the Januray newsletter through, and am interested to know what you all think of the one catalogue per year, but with the four supplements as well.

Personally I think this is a good move as I was sometimes left with old catalogues that I had get rid of.

I dont have a website so that explains why I cant get in.....
I've held off getting started except sorting my stock, ordering some boxes and getting my folders sorted.....I'm going to the Cambridge meeting...cant wait to get loads of ideas....
Just about to order my labels and have ordered so gripseal bags they should be here on Monday...I've got to print up some "sorry I missed you" and I will collect on " leaflets then I'll be good to go...

Can I ask? ...Do you usually label all 3 sheets of the order form?

That's a difficult one .. I must say, I usually sit in front of the TV and write my name and phone number by hand, so that the self-carbonation works for that. All my other details are on the label on the back of the brochure, and the order forms are in with that, so I don't see the need to put labels on all of the three-part forms.

I'm going to the Hadlow meeting next week, I really enjoy them, they are very inspiring, and I usually find someone to chat to.

I will definitely be going for a new style website. I went to the trader meeting in Cambridge yesterday which was great and Mike Ward gave a very informative talk on the new websites.

Will most likely go for the e-commerce site - looks pretty good for £25!

Anyone else on here who was at the Cambridge meeting yesterday?
