as a seller I always refunded the whole cost plus p+p if there was a fault. I have 1400 100% positive feedbacks and this has only happened a couple of times.

As a buyer, I received a folding plastic desk today stated new and there are broken plastic bits in the box. The desk is unusable. I am expecting a full refund or I will neg (only my second neg, ever) and will go the paypal refund route. However I hope for the best as always

Is it possible that the breakages could have happened in the post? You do need to give your seller a chance to put this right before you start handing out negs and going down the paypal route - your seller may be as surprised as you about the damage. It may be that they have another desk they can send you?
  • To the OP - part of the reason she doesn't want to open a dispute could be because she'll flag up as having done this a bit too often. I had someone like this ages ago. In the end they never did anything.

Exactly what I suspect, and the reason why I rarely issue a refund without a dispute being raised.

I was thinking that, but then it would also be likely to reveal the OP's eBay user ID as well.

Maybe a Private Message would be more appropriate!

I have spoken to rachd03 about the user as it sounded so similiar, turned out to be a different person.
I have reported her to ebay (mentioning her leaving negative comments under positive feedback, and also said I thought she was trying to scam me) and they said there's nothing they can do. I understand that the dispute is between me and her but surely they can do something about the feedback issue as she has clearly broken the rules?!

Those of you wanting her username....I am not sure it is a good idea for me to "name and shame" her whilst this dispute is going on, I'm playing it all by the book at the moment and slating her on a public forum may not be the best idea :P However, I agree she is someone you need to watch out for so if anybody would like her username then please PM me and I will get back to you once this issue has been ended once and for all!

And if anyones interested on the latest developments, she is still "threatening" that if she doesn't get her money by a certain date there will be trouble :rotfl: I just said I will be awaiting return of the item ;)
  • Let her open the dispute and follow that - I agree with all the other posters she is trying it on ... the sooner you're shot of her the better!
