Thanks so much steve! You've been very helpful.
So after she has told me I have to give her the refund first, then opened a dispute, she will just be told she will get the refund once I've received the item! LOVE IT! sounds like justice to me lol.0 -
You only need one of these and it takes over your whole day

What else has this person bought, and what sort of feedback has she left, or people left for her??? I know they can only leave her positives, but they might indicate something about her being awkward!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Update....
Have been replying to all her emails with the same message, basically "will give you a refund as soon as item is returned to me"
she is claiming i am "making up rules", well i am the seller it is my right to make up my own returns policy?! and keeps "threatening" me with a dispute (which i had asked her to open in the first place).
She keeps making out as if I am the one wanting something from her as she says things like "this is my final offer, take it or leave it"
I have sent her one last message saying "if i do not receive the item i will assume you no longer want a refund" and have not replied to any more of her messages.
Will see what happens once a dispute is opened.
HERE IS THE INTERESTING BIT
Looked up her profile, she has 100% feedback but has left a lot of negative feedback saying she was never refunded....hmm wonder why!! Also she has left feedback as a seller and (as ebay makes you) it is positive feedback but with a negative comments...this is against ebay rules so i am considering reporting her. A lot of her feedback seems generally quite odd too, she makes strange complaints!
Even more interesting, did a bit of digging and found she has several accounts all with different names (as in the registered name, not just the username) seems very very dodgy to me and its a shame I have been caught up in her "scam" but I have done everything by the book and if/when she ever does open the paypal dispute I'm positive it will just emphasize what I have told her, return the item, THEN get a refund.
Will be blocking all FOUR of her different accounts from bidding on my items I think.0 -
Nothing wrong with having multiple accounts (although some may do so to get around blocks, etc) but well done for getting yourself informed. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
hi there,
I am having the same problem with someone at the minute. I have 100% pos feedback and people have always been happy with what i send them. she bought 2 pairs of jeans off me and claimed they were unwearable, she asked for a refund which i agreed to out of goodwill as i dont normally accept refunds. She started saying that she wanted me to pay for her to return them which i flatly refused, it already cost me more to send them than what i charged. then she was sayin she wanted a refund before she returned them, which once again i refused. she is now saying she sent them over a week ago and is demanding a refund even though i have still not recieved them. i ordered some things myself which were sent the same day she supposedly sent the jeans and i have recieved those so i doubt it is a problem with the mail system.
I was just curious as to what their username was as it all sounds very similar to my situation and woudlnt surprise me if this was a scam they repeatedly pulled?
its so frustrating as i have never had a problem before and now this person is causing so much hassle, grrr!0 -
Sounds like she’s a bit of a nutter. It might help to send her this link, referring her to clauses D (1) (b), as well as 4.

I would say you’d stand a pretty good chance of defending any claim successfully as she’d have a job proving the item is “significantly not-as-described”. She certainly has to pay for the return postage, and get proof of delivery.
You are doing everything correctly so just quote the rule book at her and remain professional. If she’s been abusive to you then ebay/paypal are more than likely to find in your favour. If it were me I’d be very tempted to withdraw the offer of a refund and just defend the claim.0 -
rachd03 & amy4, Your posts sound like you could both be dealing with the same Ebay person. Statistically, it's unlikely. But it might be worth you pm'ing each other just to see. If it is...scammer is the word.0

as a seller I always refunded the whole cost plus p+p if there was a fault. I have 1400 100% positive feedbacks and this has only happened a couple of times.
As a buyer, I received a folding plastic desk today stated new and there are broken plastic bits in the box. The desk is unusable. I am expecting a full refund or I will neg (only my second neg, ever) and will go the paypal refund route. However I hope for the best as always0
