Hi Tallie
Beetroot yum yum - I love beetroot - its great with horseradish sauce and roast meat like beef - serve hot. Also great for risotto - turns it a cracking colour or its great with fish like smoked trout or salmon bits, or its also in a salsa type salad. DD and I tried this recipe a while back for choc cake - was pretty moist and nice - bbc site has lots of ideas too. And of course you can always make beetroot soup. xx
Chocolate & Beetroot cake
Ingredients- 1 large cooked beetroot , about 175g in weight, roughly chopped
- 200g plain flour
- 100g cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 250g golden caster sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 200ml sunflower oil
- 100g dark chocolate , (not too bitter), chopped into pieces
- crème fraîche or clotted cream, to serve
- heat oven to 190C/fan 170C/gas 5. Tip the beetroot into a food processor and blitz until chopped. Add a pinch of salt and the rest of the ingredients, except the oil and chocolate. When completely mixed (you may need to scrape the sides down once or twice), add the oil in a steady stream, as if you were making mayonnaise.
- When all the oil has been added, stir in the chocolate, then tip the mix into a lined 900g loaf tin. Cook for 1 hr until an inserted skewer comes out practically clean. leave the loaf to cool on a rack. Serve in slices with the crème fraîche or clotted cream.

Hi All :hello:
I am starting shifts at the restuarant as of next week - Yay :j They asked me to do Sun but I would like the weekends to myself which I had already told them becasue I work full time in the week too, unless there arn't any other shifts some weeks. They said they know but it has just been a funny week for shifts as they close when it's Friday 13th. I would have done it but I am going out for my Mum's birthday this Sun so they said they would make sure I am on the rota next week.
OH and I are going to start writing a list tonight of all the flat things we have and need to buy - only 3 weeks and 5 days to go! I'm so excited!
:j :j
Today:
Checked online banking
Free scratches - 1 x 10p and 1 x 25p
Ring credit card company as they have charged me an advanced fee of 30p when I haven't taken any cash out with it and they have charged me 50p interest when my interest free period doesn't run out till May!!!! - What a cheek! They said the two charges above are because of the bingo deposit! I was never told this would come uner 'cash advance' and will now be charged the 50p until it is cleared. Hopefully that will be by the end of next month, but that is not the point, I am now playing some of the free bingo to pay for these charges, VERY ANNOYED!!!!! GRRRRRRRR
Surveys
Drive carefully to conserve petrol
Brought lunch in from home and actually had breakfast before I left at home which i don't normally do
Post a book I sold yesterday on Amazon :j
Sold another book today on Amazon! :j
Look for mystery shops0 -

Hope the studying goes well for all those who are studying today
MrsA, great news on the wedding shoes
MissP, i hope you feel better soon, i had also heard that you can get tonsilitis despite not having any tonsils.
Another standard day for me today, its one of my limbo days as i have been to work and then am home for a bit before heading the 30miles to my college course for the evening.
So today's things:
-Still avoiding shop so another no spend, plus it is forcing me to use up some of my odds and ends in the freezer to make wierd concoctions.
-I have filled bottles of water for college tonight and put out my flapjack bars so that i don't buy any whilst i am out
-I have done 15mins in the garden whilst waiting for my computer to set itself up properly, means my time is used better and the garden is tidied up, want to have barbeques in the summer and use it more, plus if we move later they will not be impressed with the garden!!
-I will check online banking
-Move money around accordingly
-Pay off last credit card so now the only money i have in savings is just for savings!!
-Have put washing outside to dry
-Done another load of washing on 30
-I will print off college work
-Drive to college early so i can avoid rush hour traffic and study in the car for an hour!! Was great last time as i got a load of the work done as i had no distractions
-Keep heating off and turned off whilst at college so i am not wasting any more gas
-I will work on golden rules and complete them
-Print out golden rules
-Sort through emails
-Do some surveys
-Start creating deep tissue massage consultation form
-Do some boring household jobs
-Do cast studies for counselling course
-Order write dance for work
-Read fave threads
-check freecycle
-Check freebie board
-Look at things i can spend my clubcard tokens on in Devon/Cornwall
-Type up one child observation
-Go to college which is all part of the bigger plan
-check out play therapy courses again
-Sort out tomorrow's mystery shops
-Review 101 goals
-Read business site for advice
Think thats it for me today, everyone have a great day:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Hugs to poorlies - we would all be feeling better if only spring would finally arrive instead of this horrid drizzly greyness.
 I am really struggling to finish writing a report and I keep distracting myself - am on here as a 10 minute 'reward'!
:j The 'thrifty gardener' has arrived at the library so will go and pick that up shortly (thanks to Fay for the tip!)
:j After reading a thread on the new Food & Grocery section have bought some spaghetti from M&S for 35p, cheaper than ASDA I believe. Also got 2 for 1 Dabs which are in the freezer ( I did warn you I hadn't been sticking to my report writing task!) Did not buy anything else.
:jHave been shuffling money around my accounts in readiness for Friday's pay day - I need to do something on days when no DDs go out :rotfl:
:j Am now going back to be good and write some more [STRIKE]ridiculous waffle[/STRIKE] analytical prose.Getting there...slowly!
GC : must do better
NSD: very rare
No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.0 -

No fraid not, these are for the children i work with, would be a good idea though, get them started nice and early and not get into debt:rotfl: Needing to make their rules such as being kind and friendly more interactive and inclusive. May be getting a nice big payrise so any extra work i do is helpful plus it benefits the kids.
I already know most of the dfw golden rules, was brought up in a very poor family so had them ingrained into me from a very early age. Still love nothing more than someone donating a nice big bag of clothes for me and having a rummage through them:D However i should re write some of them as i have not been doing as well as i should, even though i know its very silly to have savings when you have some debt on a credit card, i didn't like using my savings to pay it off. Only had credit card debt because i was stoozing, but i didn't want to dip into my lovely shiny savings!:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j
