Wednesday 11/3/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking - only 2 days to pay day
  • update spreadsheets
  • move some money to savings
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • ironing for me
  • reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
  • swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • aim for no spend day
  • sparkle a lot
  • use lots of smilies to cheer me up
Good morning lovely dfw'sjumping0044.gif, Hi to all the regular postersHShearts.gif and welcome to any newbies welcome2.gif.

Have a good day everyone, having a big screen cinema show here for oldies this afternoon so lots of chairs to shift about later - should burn a few calories off. Need to avoid the popcorn and choc ices though:rolleyes:

Hugs to anyone feeling poorly or fed up , hope you soon feel better.

Catch up with you all later xxx

Yay I'm second! - Ok, I am still a small child!

Good morning everyone, thanks to Sophiesmum for posting nice and early, hello to all the new posters, hugs to those that need it, and good luck to people who are starting a new job or have intervierws. Congrats to everyone who has promotion recently. Get Well soon for people who are ill (I think that I have cought up on everyone's gossip from the past couple of days - apologies if I have missed you out)

    Today I have/Will:
    • breakfast at home
    • made lunch to take into work
    • daily scratchcard - won 25p which I then used to buy another scratchard which lost
    • will check my bank account
    • try not to spend any money
    • dinner from what is in the freezer
    • need to pop into town after work to buy hubby a card and return some clothes which I have bought recently
    • hope that an agency call me to offer me an interview for any role
    • try not to get too stressed

I have decided to take on the temp role that I was moaning about the other day. My theory is that it is money coming in, I know (and hate) the job, and it is only temporary. This is my diary for the past week regarding the rol

Wednesday - the job is discussed with me, as I have nothing else to go for, I say OK then
Thursday - after discussing it with hubby, and having a knot in my stomach, I contact the agency and say that I am not too sure
Friday - call the agency, I def do not want it (feel much better)
Monday - pop into the agency to discuss my concerns with the role, and agree to try it for a couple of days

Since then, I have had 2 text messages saying cant wait to see you on Wednesday - not too sure who they were from as I have changed my phone and lost their numbers.

I will post how I get on later.

    Take care

Not as exciting as new babies etc, but I have a small aubergine seedling appeared this morning :j (a bit sad to be so excited, but I love the spring and watching things grow)

    Morning all

My good intentions have gone out the window as I feel absolutely awful today. Throat all swollen and I can hardly speak! Silly question but can your tonsils grow back??? I had mine removed when I was in my early twenties. Also feel shivery and have a cold so I do wonder if its tonsillitis.

    So a small list today:

    * Veg on sofa this morning
    * Check on-line banking
    * Go to doctors later this afternoon
    * Dad picking up piglet at lunchtime - they are having him Pm so I can go back to bed....thank god mums speaking to me again!
    * Not going to work....not very dfw but at least i save the petrol;)

    Miss P
    xx

  • HI Miss P

We (DS, OH and I) have all had our tonsils out and 'occasionally' get tonsilitus that isnt tonsilitus if you see what I mean

IE in the place where our tonsils were it gets the same infection - might be worth going to your GP - ours always laughs and says '...well you know that place you use to have tonsils....if you had any still I would say you have tonsilitus!'

Hope you feel better soon - they can't grow back but they occasionally get infected still. x
