How good are your OH's at food shopping?

Mine, bless him, is absolutely dreadful. He would quite happily live out of the Little Tesco if I let him and thinks nothing of paying their ridiculous prices. The cheapest bread they sell in the one by us is 80p a loaf!! He cannot understand why I like to have a stock of essentials or why the freezer has to have anything in it at all.

  • I really wouldn't like to contemplate this one

He'd be alright if given a highly detailed list + an up to date map of the shop labelled with all the list items.Left to his own devices he'd buy beef burgers, fish fingers, oven chips and go to his mum's

Mr TM occasionally ventures into a supermarket

An example - he once came home and said he'd done the shopping and had got something for our tea. He'd bought one of those Indian meals for 2 - to be fair it had been reduced price. However, nothing for the boys as they don't eat curry. He'd also spent a lot more money - over £60.....

    on wine

That was the extent of the weeks shopping! (and budget)

Mine would need the map, a compass , the detailed list and one of those electric shock dog collars that would go off when ever he pick up something that was not on the list, lol.

He just can't stop himself from throwing alsorts of treats in the basket ,

He by his own admission doesn't come shopping with me because he knows that it costs about twice as much when comes

DH very rarely goes into a supermarket on his own, occasionally if I'm poorly I send him in with a short detailed list of things we need if I'm desperate, bless him.

My OH has a total fear of shopping of any kind! Just as well that I enjoy it!! The trouble is that he expects everything to cost the same as it did 40 years ago

My OH always comes shopping with me. In fact its a regular joint thing. We go into town....browse some of the shops and then go to the supermarket afterwards. I'd even feel comfortable leaving him to it on his own.

My OH got himself banned by me from coming shopping after he shouted (over an aisle on a busy Friday evening) "Do we need tampons or condoms this weekend"

    :rotfl: :rotfl:

It still makes me blush AND laugh whenever I recall it. Sorry to lower the tone. :p

Gers - I am still laughing about your OH!! Although saying that, at least he uses the correct term for tampons, mine calls them mice!!!! He would also rather use pliers to pull his eyelashes out then actually buy them for me!!!
