It wasn't too much of a problem for me to take Generali's excellent advice. Don't think there'd be anything I'd wish to see!;)0 -
I know people who were born in London who can't afford to buy a property there because lots of people from all over UK, including Cornwall choose to go and get jobs there and buy properties.... doesn't seem fair really does it?
I have sympthy with people in Cornwall, but agree, this is a problem in all popular and expensive areas. Neither Dh nor I would never be able to afford to live in the areas we were born!
The problem is, that with so many 'investments' in residential property a cap on foreign investment would cause acute outrage, and a cap on people not born but now resident in UK would create great social discomfort to the point of being unworkable, and certainly undesirable.
Moggylover described the dramatic rise in her part of rural Wales yesterday, which is veyr like the rise I've seen in my less west than cornwall part o the west country. The numbers in London and Cornwall are extreme but its a problem in other places too.0 -
I and my husband have been lookng at moving to Cornwall for years but for various reasons we keep hitting hurdles...

have you tried lifting your knees a bit higher when you approach them?I have a long hisotry iof lookinginto lovely cottages. I want to buy one in POlperro or Looe in Cornwall. This is IMPOSSIBLE.
Why are people from not in Cornwall not allowed to buy holiday cottages in Cornwall?
Is this actually legal?
I have the same problem in London - there are all sorts of people from different countries here buying and renting property. have you contacted your local BNP office for support?0 -

Once at work I wanted the Tottenham Hotspur website many years ago. I tried spurs.com. No joy - it was a basketball team.
So I tried thfc.co.uk. Up popped a website proclaiming 'Hardcore Gay Sex' with a particularly graphic image of several young gentlemen engaged in some sort of naked sporting activity.
I wasn't sure what was going to be worse. Being fired for accessing gay pornography at work or telling Mrs Generali why I no longer had a job.0 -

What about having a cap on just Dervish
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

As an undergrad I had to write a paper on, IIRC a comparison of prey and preditor reproproductive adaptions, or some thing similar. As an equine scientist horse was an easy choice of prey, and it was clear dog would have lots of research behind it, so choosing the animals wasn't difficult.
The first, idle internet searches for were however remarkably educational .0
