Funnily enough the South West is the third most expensive region in the UK despite low wages!

But a vast area with a huge range in economic prosperity....Cornwall has similar incomer versus tourist issues and Bath I imagine, but Bath is probably..I'm goin on gut feeling rather that figures....a very different employment landscape! Bristol, Cheltenham, Glouscester Swindon etc etc all being commutable , and the population density higher and services closer together I imagine etc etc.

is Salisbury SW or SE? In my mind its wessex but goodness knows what its classed as ..I always try both on house searches!

The thing that interested me recently was the discussion of our local westcountry news stations all merging. Here in the 'just made it' as west country...(again, in my mind just on edge of wessex) we have less in common with Cornwall for news and weather than with parts of the SE, and access to Bristol and the M5 seems the main point people have vaguley in common.

Hugely varying region the SW. (Almost all of it wonderful!:o)

Well she gave it a good shot, but not one mention for tin mines, clotted cream or pasties. 8/10.
