Me too!
But february is use-up month (hence the original tinned sardine post!)
I've only just found out about frozen sardines - fish man sold me a huge bag of them the other day and they brought a little bit of portugal to a rainy february evening.
Bit grim having to gut them though - good job I'm not squeamish...
Thanks for all your recipes!

HI I know this is boring but I like them as part of a salad. Although one friend of mine swore by mashed up sardines and dairylea sandwiches!!"It's not easy being me...!" :wave:0

Sardines are hard to beat eaten on top of buttered, toasted wheaten bread. It makes a quick and easy lunch.

I just found this thread, was searching because I really randomly bought a tin of sardines last week
If I have them on toast are they supposed to be warm? They're in tomato sauce btw!

On toast is the only way I eat them, and no I don't warm the up. Make no difference whether they're in oil or tk, but i must admit I only have them on wholemeal toast, but again that's just a personal preference..Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -

I toast one side of bread, then butter the untoasted side, spead the sardines on and then pop back under the grill to warm them through..... :drool:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0

Well, good on you. I feel like this about a lot of stuff, but at least I'll give it a try, it's the kids who just refuse to try something different that really niggle me.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0
