Tiscali... Be careful when asking for a MAC number

lilgray i think you do need to log into the tiscali website as an account holder, because this section relates to closing an account, iyswim. But if you don't want to setup an account online you'll probably have to request your MAC by phone. Previous poster Eagle_1 did this and received code back very quickly.

I wish I had done this by e-mail, I to used to defend Tiscali but my faith has been lost, I even wondered if I had done the right thing when I asked for my MAC code, that was until they cancelled my account less than 16 hours after my MAC code request.
I hope this never happens to anyone else, but you never know...0 -
I requested my MAC code from Pipex on Friday 13 March and was told it would be e-mailed within 48 hours, still waiting! and hard copied in the post within 5 days, still waiting! Chased them again on Tuesday 17 March and told again, MAC code issued, e-mail would be received within 48 hours (it wasn't, no surprise there then!) and hard copied by post within 5 days, might appear over the weekend (somehow doubt it!) They mentioned that everything they do falls within the OFCOM pre-requisites, somehow I doubt this! But being a patient sort of person I will wait until the weekend, and then the s--t will hit the fan.0

After posting the above on 19 Mar I waited patiently. Sent 2 more e-mails to Pipex, one on 21 Mar, one on 23rd (neither of which have been acknowledged!) Finally ran out of patience yesterday, spoke to OFCOM and am now waiting, yet again, for a MAC code from Pipex. Still there's light at the end of the tunnel!0
