Sorry I overreacted - to give you an idea, today I managed to plant 3 garlic bulbs and 10 strawberry plants, it's taken me 3 days to get the pots ready...:D

I have one thing to say about that.....

For those that are willing/able to make their own raised beds... in B&Q the other day I picked up a load of decking boards, about 8 feet long, 6 inches wide for £2.98 each... so you could make an 8' x 4' raised bed for less than a tenner. I don't know how long they're on offer at this price for, they're not showing up online, but had loads instore.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

That looks like it might be very useful indeed!

    Thank you

Do B&Q have a timber cutting service and if so does anyone know how much they charge please?

We don't have the tools to cut timber ie bench and vice etc and can't justify buying them just to cut 4 pieces of timber.

No link, cut out and send form from the paper (just bought one). Looks pretty good to me - will leave it lying around in case my lot need any ideas for Mothering Sunday!

So it's in today's paper and is just under £15 inc p+p?

I tired to get the decking boards from B&Q to build my own as they were such good value however they would not fit in my car and unfortunately they would not cut that type of wood. They do however deliver although for me the delivery cost came to the same price as the wood.

Today's Daily Telegraph (Tuesday 10th March) on page 21 (sent DS to buy one).

"Claim a raised bed, six packets of seeds and a DVD - a package worth £50. The raised bed is easy to assemble; the heat absorbing panels click together and provide a growing area of 1m x 1m. You will also receive 80g of EasyFeed fertiliser...

"To claim your free kit, send hte coupon, with payment of £14.49 for post and packaging (dispatched by parcelforce).

In the small print - not available in ROI, you have to pay by cheque (?) and they'll dispatch from April 09

Of course the cost is actually more like £16 once you've bought the paper, envelope and stamp... and then there's the cost of filling the raised bed...

Well, just been out to buy a paper, now I have to try and make my mind up whether I am going to buy one or not.
