Children's Shoes Cost A Fortune! Where Do You Buy Yours?

  • I had a leaflet through the door today from Brantano?
I'm going to go there for DS's school shoes.
I bought the baby some clarkes pumps thomas ones for £7.
In Brantano they have a clarkes consession and another one that they measure to fit, so will take the boy there for his School shoes, they are expensive, but I think its a case of you get what you pay for, last year I got him ASDA shoes, broke within 6 days, then exchanged them and they broke within 3 weeks, pointless.

I got my DD's shoes from Clarks city centre store on Sunday - looked in Brantano today, and they are actually more expensive for Clarks kids shoes than Clarks is!
  • Went in Clarks in Taunton yesterday. Waited 25 min for some help and then they had two pairs in DD's size, that was all and both unsuitable. For my other DD she brought out three pairs of a style I had expressly said I didn't want, then tried to flog us trainers which we didn't need.
On the way out someone asked how our experience was, I said "terrible" and explained why she rounded on me as though I'd kicked her dog, and we had to walk out.
Went to Jones Bootmaker instead, loads and loads better, and spent a tenner less even though DD1 got boots instead of shoes.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

I use clarks for shoes until the feet have formed properly then i will just buy standard size (ie, 5,6,7) in normal shoe shops.

My mother has deformed feet as an adult due to wearing hand me downs and incorrect sized shoes (too narrow). She has had multiple operations and all have failed!
Her consultant said it is important to wear correctly fitting footwear as a child to ensure the growing foot isnt mis shaped or deformed when squeezed or left unsecure in footwear.

Saying that most people just buy bog standard shoes from any old shop and dont have a problem.

my mum gave me any old cheapy pair of plastic shoes, once a year and if i grew out of them it was tough, which is why at the grand age of 37 years old i have deformed feet and bunions

because of this i will only use clarks and get them measured every quarter, so mine dont have the pain of walking that i have
and i use the outlet in blackpool as they are cheaper than the clarks shops

I`m sorry to hear this web must be awful :(
My mum has suffered since she was 35 (no bunions but ouch! i know of them very well as my dad suffers) My mum is now 64 and has hammer toes she has to wear slippers now
