evening folks.
iv had a funny old day....it was bitter cold and frozen here this morning. i went to see to barney and the rest of the crew. barney was a tad smug to say the least..all tucked up in a cosy rug in a cosy stable with FOODthe mini's now have a good ol shaggy coat of thier own and got stuck in to thier food and hay [i just give them a handfull or so each just to check em over really. ruby....ah well ruby is getting closer and closer
:) i hold the bucket to feed her and she is far more comfortable/confident with this as the norm now.. little by little..;)
my friend is in her IOW house this weekend and her hubby is ok letting chooks out etc as long as all goes smoothly ! he mentioned he hadnt seen thier last remaining pot belly pig when he went to feed her...she roams the grounds [a large area !] so i wandered round checking ditches incase shed slipped in one.she had been seen about 7am.. i found her...:( alas she was in a big pile of leaves and looked asleep but she wasntmust have just gone peacefully.she was about 14yrs old so had good run of it. we havnt let my friend know yet as dont want to ruin her weekend...
i then went to the tip to see what goodies they had for salenot a lot but i got a big old photo of THE BARGATE southampton. im trying to work out the date now. shows tram lines and 3 fireman in long coats and high helmets under an old gas lamp with a "fire station" sign up on the wall. i think approx 1900. there is a pub/buidings either side of the bargate and they have been long gone and a road goes in a circle around the structure now. i love things like that..:D
anyway im off on an adventure tomorow...;)
i hope evryone is cosy tonite and dont suffer too much.:)0 -

A little sad about the PB Pig alfie, but it makes sense not to tell the owner.
OK I have made some space in my inbox, so if any of you folks want some free seeds, please PM.
This is what I have on offer. It’s not much, but they’re free and I won’t even charge you postage. Just tell me what you want. Small quantities.
Tomato ‘Ben’s Early Vine’ These were the very straggly but fast toms from Real Seeds that I tried last year. They tasted fine but plants looked awful. Ate the first one on 9th June. We were supposed to select from the best plants, but all mine were much of a muchness. Indeterminate.
Tomato ‘Golden Sunrise’ Well known, normal sized tomato, but stays yellow when ripe and went on supplying toms until New Year.
Indeterminate.
Chilli ‘Bishop’s Hat’ Ioverwintered this one in the conservatory. Because the plant stayed very alone outdoors, it’s unlikely to have hybridised. A medium hot chilli, its fruit look vaguely like a bishop’s mitre. Sometimes called ‘Friar’s Hat’ if you are Googling it. I don’t think friars wear hats!
Quillquina A new S American plant from Real Seeds that’s used as a herb, probably where you’d otherwise use coriander. We liked a little in salad leaves for sandwiches etc. It doesn’t bolt as quickly as coriander, but it will seed eventually. Keep cutting it to prolong its useful life.
Matthiola incana Don’t eat this one! It’s perennial stock. Not the most elegant plant, but it has great scent and the white flowers are nice & profuse. Will not be perennial forever, but lasts for 3 – 4 years, especially if not allowed to make much seed. No flowers in its first year.
Poppy: Large, Very Deep Red with Big Blotches This grew where we cleared some land. It was so impressive I saved seed. No guarantee it will be the same colour, but it was the only one I saw around here. Annual, about 21/2 - 3'
I only know lir's full address. Anyone else will need to send me theirs, but lir will confirm (I hope!) that I am not some mad stalker!

Certaonly not stalked me. Either thag or he is very, very good at it ..i've certainly not seen him lurking round the bend in the van
Hos mbig is the white thing that smells great davesnave? I have hArdly any room in the little white border, but always after happy smelling things.
Not sure whT we are doing Bout veg this year....depends on plans with house i think. I don't think i have enough window sills to deal with seed for food atm. Or rather, my window sills all face the cold0 -

It is about 0.6m but sprawls around a bit. Ends up after 2 years about a 0.8m across. I'm guessing!:o
I'm sure you could poke a few of these in somewhere, leave them to get on with it and have your own seed in the future.0 -
I didn't have much successes last year, but here's to this season being more productive & better weather-wise hopefully.0
