Whoooo, hard frost! Troughs not too thick with ice though. Hedges are getting the job today, so hope he froast lasts well into the day to minimise damage to grass.
Geese survived, and have a clwar patch of water by the bank, so i am relieved and they look smug.0 -

Not here. Bit of one, but not very serious, and snow line seems to be at 650' or thereabouts, so we missed that pitching too.
Incorporated the Rhode Island Reds with the rest of the flock last night, which seems to have gone without incident.
Seriously considering taking the Welsummers to market, as they are very boring and first to stop laying/last to start.
We sold some eggs yesterday. The customer has been buying in town, so was overjoyed to hear that production is picking up. You can't fake a real free range egg!0 -

Not much going on here.....at the moment it just seems like ....work.... home....food.....shout at kids and the dog...... sleep:rotfl:
It seems that our weekends have gradually been taken over by something related to work:o whether its getting stuff or going to the antique places to stock up, tidy up etc... so really do need to find the time during the week:eek:, so then we can have at least some weekends for ourselves....
each week just seems a blur now.....
never mind.. looking forward to the smallholders weekend in may at builth.... having another stall there this year.... which means we cant go looking around...... but still its a break... something different and hopefully earning some pennies too:D...
I can taste those homemade lamb with mint sauce burgers now...:D:D the highlight of the show:rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -
Picked up the chicken house, looks great, once I work out how it all fits together
Now I need to decide, hybrids or thoroughbreds...... MmmmFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Whoops......... I tend to pick up bits of wood anywhere I can for my stove. Bit by the side of the road... it's mine
A massive estate near me took down a couple of huge trees, took most of the wood and left a load of mostly mid sized bits in a field for a few weeks. I asked permission to go and have a bit, which they turned down.
But I was driving by today and saw some bits I just couldn't leave, so had a couple, I know it's not strictly legal and I wouldn't advise anyone else to do it.......... then I got greedy, I went back for a 3rd, heard what sounded a bit like a tractor, hurried back to the van and threw in the bit of wood, a bloke in a farm vehicle came through the gate where my van was parked and saw me walking to the front of the van.
I've no idea if he saw me loading the last bit of wood or not, he looked at me as if to say, who the hell are you, I waved cheerfully and drove off very quickly:o
I might leave the rest
Oh yes and I had sawdust all down my front.......Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

What are the odds though, less than a minute out of the van and some bloke turns up.........Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Its sold as seen so I dont know whether its all working ok. Looks like someone's egg hatching and rearing equipment they no longer need.0
